Kramp - Wield Revenge album cover

For a long time, Spain has been showing great growth in the Metal scene. Not only fans, but many good bands are arising in the land of my ancestors. It pleases me, because very good works come from Spanish lands. Even being a bit raw, the Heavy Metal quintet KRAMP, from Madrid, is making a good and promising work on their first EP, called "Wield Revenge".

It's a mix of the German old Heavy Metal school, with some influences from NWOBHM, so you can expect a musical work based upon very good melodic lines, fine technique from each musician, and solid songs that really are good. Of course, the band can show more than we hear on the EP, but for a first coming, it's very good, indeed.

The sound quality is good, but not great. It's a bit rawer than the needed, but we must have in mind that it's an independent release. Even not being perfect, you can still understand every single musical arrangement of the songs, as well as you can feel their energy. Besides some points needs improvements (the Spanish accent of the vocals can be worked in a better shape in the future), they have guts, and their songs are truly good. On "Leather Warrior", you'll find a good song, with fine tempos and good technique presented on bass guitar and drums; the fine melodic lines of the guitars for "Tale of Revenge" (lovely riffs, indeed) and on the slow and bitter "Legend" (even with the Spanish accent, the vocals are doing a fine work).

Again, the guitars show fine arrangements on "Dare to Face Fear", where some good guitar solos appear and the vocals use different tunes in some parts (a bit more soft and tender); and the good tempos shown on "Assault" (fine vocals again, but these high pitched screams could be left aside). Yes, the quintet is talented, and using a better sound quality, putting more of their own of the songs (because they are too near from their musical influences) and correcting little flaws, they have potential to be great in the future, and I sincerely hope so.
