Embrace the Fire
Kaos Reign
These guys are Metal in its purest form!
Coming from Norwalk, Connecticut (USA), the trio KAOS REIGN is specialized in creating a new kind of music, and "Embrace the Fire" is a very good sample.
Besides we can recognize Thrash, Stoner and Groove influences, their music is unique, and you Ol' Daddy here had to hear this album a lot to catch their essence. Their music is easy to like and to understand, but the comprehension of its musical influences' range is hard. The vocals are aggressive and harsh in normal tunes, the guitars are creating catching riffs (both on faster or slower moments), a very hard rhythmic basis, who guides the band's music perfectly. And the final result is extremely good.
The sound quality is very, very good, for we can access all musical details with no difficulties, but have that "oiled" feeling of some Stoner or Groove Metal bands, but it's pulsing with life and aggressiveness. And be prepared!
The album has many very good moments and great songs, besides it's their first one. And this means that the future can be great, as we can hear in songs like the groovy "Rollercoaster of Emotions" and its great guitar riffs and vocals (with some blast beats appearing on drums as well), the complex "Wretched" (a more mid tempo song, with vocals like a bear roaring), the sabbathic and full of Groove influences "I'm Alone" (extremely good tasty riffs), the abrasive "Mercy" (here, some influences from PANTERA arise), and the more accessible "Sweet Vengeance".
Very, very good.
