As the Sun Sleeps
Invidia
When a band is formed by experienced musicians that are known widely, there are two things that happen: the expectation for a great musical work, and that it calls the attention of all fans from the previous bands of their members. Las Vegas based quintet INVIDIA was born with many expectations. Then, "As the Sun Sleeps" comes to the word to answer many questions.
In the band's line-up, you'll find guys that played in SKINLAB, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and SIX OUNCE GLOVES. Obviously, the main creative focus of the band is on the modern way of North-America Metal School filled with crushing breakdowns, a groove scent, and tons of musical weight with fine melodies, along with screamed vocals (with some occasional clean moments), slow and broken rhythm, some influence from New Metal (Nu is my dick on your ass, ok? Write in a right way!) and Industrial, so be prepared to be crushed by their musical work. It's nothing really new in terms of musical style, but it's full of energy, personality and will blow your teeth out of your mouth!
Produced by the band itself, the sound quality of "As the Sun Sleeps" is very good, with excellent instrumental tunes, and with an oiled and solid sound. But it is truly clear, so we can understand what they are playing clearly. Brutal, oppressive, and modern, so be prepared to be smashed by the stomping guitar riffs, solid rhythmic session and very good vocals. Eleven songs of modern bone crushing music, having their best moments on the harsh and grooving "Now or Never" (great work from bass guitar and drums, along with fine chorus) and "Making My Amends" (very good guitars, with a strong arsenal of riffs), the slow pace of the oppressive ones "Rotten" and "Smell the Kill" with their nasty vocals, the catchy Industrial bitter melodies of "Till Death", and the contrast between oiled aggressiveness and Industrial introspective melodies on "The Other Side".
Yes, it's modern and abrasive, and will conquer Modern Metal fans easily.
