Inattentional Blindness
Inhuman Remnants
And from Canberra, Australia, comes this absolute insane quartet. Yes, INHUMAN REMAMNANTS is back with their second EP, "Inattentional Blindness". And be prepared for an assault of pure brutality.
The quartet follow the same style of playing Death Metal from names as SUFFOCATION and ABORTED, but way down faster, especially on drums (this drummer must have some special skill hidden), and the guitar solos show some care about melodic notes, running away from that "tremolo-note-tremolo" used on Death Metal. But the vocals show some fine moments and the bass always makes a good job.
Darren Jenkins made the mixing and mastering of the work, giving clarity to their music, but without tearing out the heavy weight.
We have only four songs on this work. On "Inattentional Blindness", we can hear that they really have a great potential, with some great arrangements of the guitars and drums, and far from many things we commonly hear on Death Metal albums. "Unsane" is a slower song, but here we can feel some aspects too similar to ancient bands, besides the guitars again make a very good job. On "The Suicidal and the Murderous" the similarities with other bands are too evident, but on "Rotten Fruit from a Dying Family Tree", they show again a very fine work, with excellent moments from the drums and vocals.
A very good band, indeed, but they need to push a bit more of their personality inside their songs. The rest is fine.
