Generation Of The Last
Infinite Tales
Since a 2012, this writer is astonished by Ukrainian Metal bands. It's strange to say, but Ukraine is becoming more and more a new Metal Mecca, offering excellent and new bands, with new insights and going further, beyond the limits, sometimes crating new things, as THUNDERKRAFT, and now, it's time for the sextet INFINITE TALES comes with "Generation of the Last", their new album. And they really do something great.
The band music is a Melodic Death Metal (oh, these labels make me want to puke...), with great arrangements on guitars (seeming sometimes those bands from the same style Finland), technical and heavy bass guitar and drums' work, and the marriage of harsh voices (high pitches with some low grunts here and there) and melodic female voices is what makes them different. It's like we could mix CHILDREN OF BODOM, XANDRIA and old TRISTANIA with excellent and elegant female voices (no, not lyrical or whispered ones. Victoria "Kiwi" Revko sings in a more natural way). But you can hear to understand what I mean.
Max Morton (SOULITUDE, ADVENTUS, GRIMFAITH and others) did the production work, so it's very polite and clean, but without losing the necessary heavy weight and aggressiveness. Loud, clean and heavy all the time. The artwork is pretty simple, not complicated, just the band logo and the album's name, but in a good work.
A fine album is what they offer, so pay attention closely to great moments like "Generation of the Last" (great drumming here, in a well worked song), "667" (a not so fast song, with very good vocals and astonishing guitars), "Pandemic of Anger" (a truly orgasm of aggression and weight, where the contrast between harsh and female voices are fine, and hear the guitars with great attention to fell the melodies coming in natural form), the excellent "Breaking the System" (the mix of good and calm melodic moments with aggressive ones is great), the not-so-fast-song "Deathmarch", the abrasive "The Final Act of Freedom", "Killing the Kindness in Ourselves" (a atmospheric song, with great keyboards moments and wonderful guitars) the more ethereal and climatic "Funeral Theme".
Just excellent, nothing more to add.
