Here in South America, to make Metal is something extremely hard. Yes, there are many difficulties to overcome, due some economic problems and stressing features out and inside Metal scene. But to speak this, Ol' Big Daddy here would have to write many more than this, and here is not the due place to do so. Not here, in a review for my Peruvian nephews from INFECTION, with their new and brutal album, "Acrotomophile Mutilator".

Well, they're not creating anything new, but following the school of a sickening and technical Death Metal bands like CANNIBAL CORPSE and earlier CARCASS (not so putrid as them, please), but with some more melodic insights in certain moments, and a lot of influence of Thrash Metal, with good technical approach, turning "Acrotomophile Mutilator" and very interesting album. Guttural grunts and harsh screams, great guitar work (where some great melodies appears in many moments), excellent bass and drums works.

The production is very good, so we can hear all the instruments in an extremely clear way, with good tunes on them all. The quality is not a problem, and my nephews have done a good work on this, and the artwork will put all mothers and fathers to tear out their hairs, no doubt about it.

The entire album is very good, having its best moments on the following songs: the aggressive and thunderous "When Children Murder", "First-Degree Murder" (with a very technical guitar work), "Psychopath", the hard kick in the face called "Wish You Were Dead (Again)", the insane "Acrotomophile Mutilator", and the excellent "Devouring the Living".

Very good work indeed, but they still have great potential to put out of their souls, so we hope that, in their next album, something really great will come from these insane Death Metal killers from Peru.
