Ghost Season - Like Stars In A Neon Sky album cover

How can we describe what some "veterans" (yes, I'm ironic in these words) mean when they say that a band is a "teenager Metal band"? Well, these unbearable freaks think that everything that is good was already done in the past. As a true veteran, I prefer to say that what these disgusting guys ignore is that time passes and things change. But Metal is always Metal, you can like it or not, but to label bands in such way is a childish thing. Let me tell you a thing, my dear nephews and nieces: bands as GHOST SEASON, from Athens (Greece), are opening new musical possibilities. Listen to their album "Like Stars in a Neon Sky" and you'll understand.

They play a melodic and accessible form of alternative Metal, taking influences from names as STONE SOUR and others, but doing things in their own way. Their musical work is really good, with catchy melodies, a very good dose of musical accessibility, and that essential touch of weight. OK, I believe that some Metal fans may not be satisfied by their music, but they are truly good. The sound quality of the album is truly very good. All sounds clear, with the musical instruments in their due places on the songs. The only thing that could be done in a better way is the instrumental tunes, because they are rawer than needed for what the band needs. But it's not so bad.

The melodic lines they use are tender and catchy, so be prepared to sing with them after you listened two or three this album. On "Sons of Yesterday" and "Fade Away", you hear the heavy weight of their music along with nice melodies, and the guitars show a more melodic orientation on "Break My Chains", a musical accessibility and good work from bass guitar and drums can be heard on "War of Voices", the good technical work shown on the vocals during "The Mirror" and on the ballad "Break Me Shake Me" can be said as their best songs on the album. They are pretty good, have a good future, but need a bit more of maturing. But they are on the right path.
