Some decades in the past, the New York scene was strongly linked to Metal and Hardcore. In the 80s, names as ANTHRAX, OVERKILL, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, and others arose on the city that gave birth to important Hardcore names as RAMONES (the forefathers of Punk Rock and Hardcore), BAD BRAINS, MINOR THREAT, CRO-MAGS and others. So, this fertile scenario began to fade during the first half of the 90s, but now new names and musical forms appear again on the city. FOOTAGE OF A YETI, from Queens, is representing the modern styles, as we can hear on "Purging the Human Condition".

Brutal and oppressive, their musical style is a widely known form of Deathcore. Of course, they show a good level of personality, but they need a bit more maturing. Their songs are very good, but could be better. Their mix of low grunts, abrasive guitars riffs and technical bass and drums rhythmic work is good and technical, but still seems with the greater part of bands of the same style. The sound quality is really good. "Purging the Human Condition" was mixed and mastered by Kevin Antreassian at Backroom Studios, and he made a good work. Their songs sound brutal and oppressive, but we can understand them clearly. The tunes are good as well, and the artwork created by Daniel McBride is very good, giving a transcendental touch to the album.

Tyler Shelton of TRAITORS made a special appearance on "Death Prayer", giving a different flavor to the song. And all the tracks are good, but you have the clear idea that they could have done better. For now, the brutal slow tempos of "D.R.E.A.M.", the two aggressive "Purging the Human Condition I" and "Purging the Human Condition II", and "Death Prayer" can be pointed as their best moments on the album, as well as they are proofs of their talent and musical potential. But as I said above: a bit more of maturing will make the difference.

They are a good band, indeed.
