Eynomia - Break Free album cover

So, dear nephews and nieces of Old Big Daddy here, how about some melodic US Metal in the same vein of names like QUEENSRYCHE, FATES WARNING, SYMPHONY X and all those excellent bands that mix the heavy weight of traditional Heavy Metal with fine melodies and accurate musical technique? Yes, I know that this genre is not new, but in the hands of North American quintet EYNOMIA, it gains life and will seduce all those who hear "Break Free", their first album.

By the names of the musicians involved on this band, you'll see that they have great experience in Metal, playing with names as CHRISTINE OHLMAN BAND, THUNDERHEAD, SYMPHONY X, MIKE LEPOND'S SILENT ASSASSINS, HEATHEN'S RAGE, CHRISTIAN MUENZER BAND, FOUNTAINHEAD, and RON KEEL BAND. The band's musical approach is melodic, tender and with fine atmospheres, being heavy, catchy and full of energy on the right moments. But as well, their work is not hard to be assimilated, because of the accessible melodies in some parts, and catchy choruses as well. It's really excellent, and will hook you all!

Although it's not as perfect as the band deserves, the sound quality that we hear on "Break Free" is truly very good, balancing in a good way weight, melodies, aggressiveness and clearness. So be prepared to hear their music with a great level of understanding.

All of their nine songs are all very good. But the melodic charm and energy that flows from "Cleansing" (that shows an excellent work from keyboards and guitars), the accessible harmonies and great guitars of "Someday Maybe" (and what a lovely chorus), the mix of weight and good introspective melodies shown on "Break Free", the beautiful ballad "Through Your Eyes" (amazing vocals and good keyboards arrangements), the abrasive weight and seductive energy from "I Can Tell" and "When it's Over" can be named as their finest moments.

With a better sound quality, and the right divulgation, they'll be great. For now, be prepared to hear a great album, because this is what "Break Free" is.
