Entartung - Baptised Into The Faith Of Lust album cover

Sometimes, I question myself about many matters in this world, and about Metal. One of them is: why in the blazes in Germany, a country that gave to the world great bands in almost all Metal genres, didn't reveal a prominent name on Black Metal until this moment?

Of course many names in the genre appeared in the country. Ok, I know names as NARGAROTH, the mighty MYSTIC CIRCLE and NINNGHIZHIDDA (both that, unfortunately, ended their activities), but none of them became notorious as those ones from Sweden, Greece and Norway. It's a pity, because names as those are as good as those that we already know. The trio ENTARTUNG is another excellent name from German scene. Their latest release, a full-length called "Baptised into the Faith of Lust", is amazing!

Their work is based on a climatic and nasty way, with morbid and beautiful melodies that fill their long songs. It's on a traditional way, but not being a clone of what lies in the past. Their musical work sounds alive, fresh and aggressive, with a melancholic touch that makes their songs even more tasteful for our ears. Be prepared, because their songs are hypnotic and seductive, and they will conquer you easily. The sound quality of "Baptised into the Faith of Lust" is perfect for what the band needs. The mix between a harsh and raw sound with a very good level of clarity, so the work on recording and mixing (this part was done by Vulfolaic) were done in a good way, and the mastering of Patrick W. Engel is very good. The artwork created for the cover by Vulfolaic matches with the band's musical style as well.

Harsh, raw and melodic, the bitterness of "Baptised into the Faith of Lust" is really charming. The traditional Black Metal feeling that fills "Resurrectio Mortuorum" (very good guitar riffs and shrieked vocals), the harsh morbid and melancholic guitar riffs presented on "Vices of the Prophet" and on "De Sura Frukterna", the raw energy that flows of the brutal "Der Werwolf" (very good bass guitar and drums parts are presented on this song, along with fine keyboards), and the violent and morbid outfit of "Black Dog of God" (how lovely is this form of singing, the traditional shrieked voices with snarls under a virulent and nasty instrumental basis). "Baptised into the Faith of Lust" is a great album, indeed, and I truly recommend it to all extreme Metal fans.
