The Stalker
Eminence
Here in Brazil, we have many bands with thunderous and ferocious music, with modern and abrasive sound, with that guitars sound influenced by the same impacting sonority from MESHUGGAH and a Hardcore orientation like we can see on bands as HATEBREED. All of the have a very personalized work, but we can call bands like CONFRONTO, JOHN WAYNE, PRAY FOR MERCY and PROJECT46 as the NBMS, the New Brazilian Metal School. And one of the outstanding bands from this group is the Belo Horizonte's quartet EMINENCE, a veteran on these lands, that now comes with their new album, "The Stalker". Modern, aggressive and abrasive, the band is a Death Metal team with some Thrash Metal influences, but having some Metalcore abrasive shreds on their music (especially due the use of some clean voices), and on "The Stalker", we can see that their work is really mature. Yes, it's a step ahead from what we can hear on their previous works, with a compact sound and a good technical level. Yes, they evolved, and are here to make your ears bleed.
The hands of Tue Madsen (production) and Alan Wallace (co-production) did a fine job. Yes, their sonority is great, and the sound quality is near perfection, for even having an abrasive and heavy sound, it's clear to the point we can understand what musical instruments are playing, even the those minimal details. And to give an extra shine on this album, the band has as special guests Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. (from SEPULTURA) on bass guitar on three songs (being one of them "Veins Of Memories"), Rogério Delay on on solo and acoustic guitars and PJ Rogeri(from Pop Rock band JOTAQUEST) playing bass guitar on "Unfold".
The album is a fruit of great effort, so it is truly homogeneous in terms of quality, but we can point for a first hearing the songs the bitter dose called "Unfold" (very good tempos, some great riffs and fine drumming, along with great vocals), the harsh and melodic "Veins Of Memories" (a fine technique arises on bass and drums works, with some introspective moments), and the aggressive and fast "Critical Path".
They're breathing hatred and dripping rage from their mouths, so be prepared.
