Embrio - Revolt Against The System album cover

On the end of the 90's, Thrash Metal came back from the dead and strikes one more time, showing a renewed stile, with some bands going back to the 80s to seek for inspiration (the so-called Retro Thrash bands), and some earned some moderns contours, breathing a furious life on their music. And Brazil was one epicenter of the things back then, with some names like ANDRALLS and ANCESTTRAL showing their work. And in the frontlines of the style in Brazil, from the city of Cascavel, in Paraná, is where one strong name appears: the Brazilian Sasquatch EMBRIO, who comes with the fourth work, the violent and well worked "Revolt Against the System".

The band focuses their efforts in a more violent and intense way of doing music, with mid tempos instead of using a lighting speed, with some touches of groove here and there, with a lot of aggressively harsh vocals, heavy-weight riffs and gripping solos (without losing the melody sense), bass doing the link between guitars and drums with some brilliant moments, and the drums are intense, showing a very good technique, and mixing all these, well, better to look for a shelter for hecatombs...

Recorded at Embrio Studios, with the careful hands of Andy Kalany manning the duties of production, echoing sonority that flows both in a brutal and clean manners, keeping the heavy and aggressive weight of music, and the mixing didn't let any of musical instruments more evident than the other ones. The lyrics are violent blows against the Brazilian path of corruption.

Highlights: "Anarchy", and prepare for slam dancing, with a mid tempo pacing and killing guitar riffs, the furious "Eletric Chair", a more elaborated song, with the bass/drums work very exciting, "No Life No Life" (these vocals works are the finest of all album); and "Save the Planet", again with excellent guitar riffs.

An excellent disc, no doubt about this, but we can see that EMBRIO has a lot of potential, so we can wait that their next album to break barriers, as well as will cause total deafening in your neighbors.
