Elysian Divide - Beast album cover

ELYSIAN DIVIDE is a female fronted Metal band from the UK. They have just released their newest EP titled "Beast" and that's what we are going to talk about.

The opening song from the album is "Loser" and it starts out heavy and aggressive with the guitar riffs fast and the duets between the guitars, they are soon followed by the drive vocals that gave the song a whole new dynamic. I loved how her vocals sounds, it has the aggressiveness needed to complete the great heavy and melodic at the same time instrumental parts. There's a part on this song that reminded me of JINJER and that's just awesome. "Inspired by Hatred" starts with a cool tapping guitar sound that is soon completed by some heavy guitars and great drumming work that reminded me even of the tribal sound from SEPULTURA. This song has different dynamics that are created by the guitars that seems to lead the sound. "Street Spirit" starts with a beautiful clean guitar sounds that creates a perfect atmosphere for the sweet vocals that's about to come. It's nice to see her vocals in a sweeter way, since she already showed that she can be aggressive. But don't get fooled, still a heavy song and the bass work here is the best so far.

The title song "Beast" starts with guitar riff and drums that reminded me of PANTERA, but with their own identity. For being the song that gave its name to the EP I was expecting more, but still a good song and the chorus is catchy. "Storm" is the song that closes the EP and it's seven minutes and forty seconds length, which I find pretty cool. The song starts different from the previous songs and there's a different ambiance on this one. There's lyrical vocals, aggressive vocals and the instrumental parts here are the best on the whole material so far.

This band "Beast" EP is a good one and I think that it will give the band some good things to harvest. There are good songs here and the instrumental parts were really well executed, the vocals are astonishing and the production is good. It seems that they are finding their own voice and I like what I hear.
