My heart fills with joy when I hear this album...

For those who don't know, the name of Eddy Malm is linked to the roots of Swedish Metal, because he took part from HEAVY LOAD (the pioneers of Metal in the country) from 1979 to 1985. So, as a proof that Metal/Rock is an addiction to all the Metalheads, no matter how young or old, and from where they came from, Eddy comes with his own band, EDDY MALM BAND, and for the happiness of us all, they are releasing their first album, "Northern Lights".

Here you'll find the old and good Heavy Metal/Classic Hard Rock you can expect for a work from Eddy, done with great and excellent melodies, songs easy to understand, sober instrumental technique and that 70's essential feeling. This album sounds good to our ears and hearts, because the songs of the album were written with heart. The sound quality of the album is good, done in a way that reminds me of the raw and strong sound qualities from albums of the past. But it doesn't feel moldy or outdated. No, it makes their songs sound full of life and the due amount of weight.

You can feel the energy, the life and weight of "Northern Lights" in every song of the album. But "Saturday Night" with its excellent guitars and vocals, the elegant weight of "Heart of a Warrior" (that shows a solid work from bass guitar and drums), the accessible and catchy "I Had Enough", the thunderous weight of "Dark Nights" and "Get Out of Here" (here you'll find the roots of what bands like MERCYFUL FATE), and the charming "A Loser", and these songs can be said as the album's finest moments.

We are lucky for hearing such a good album...
