The Autocatalytic Process
Eciton
Death Metal models created in Sweden became popular and influenced a lot of schools, and throughout the world, one can check the influences of the Swedish bands on many releases. So it's not something hard to check such a feature, especially on the work of bands as the Danish quintet ECITON, as can be heard clearly on "The Autocatalytic Process", their third full length. The band fuses 70% of Death Metal with 30% elements from Gothenburg Melodic Death Metal, so it means that the album is aggressive and follows a classic Death Metal tendency, being brutal and aggressive, but with a careful approach on its technical approach and on the instrumental arrangements. And although the term 'classic' is used above, their musical work isn't moldy, it's the opposite: it sounds alive, full of energy and hooks, and that can seduce every Death Metal fan that listen to this album. Yes, it's a very good release, indeed.
The sonority of "The Autocatalytic Process" was built to keep things aggressive and to boost the brutal impact of the quintet's music. In other hand, the care with the definition of the instrumental tunes and with the clarity can be heard clearly. It means that, besides it sounds heavy as an anvil that falls from the sky, it's easy to understand what's being expressed by the band. It's a very good and mature release of a band that knows where they want to get in a near future. Just check "Repeal and Replace" and "Desperate Humans" (both being brutal and modern Death Metal songs, bearing melodic outfits created by the guitars in many moments, without ripping apart the brutality of the song), "Commercial Replay" (this one shows clearly the melodic outfit of Gothenburg Death Metal influences on their music), "Peeled Off Intelligence" (this one bears a massive aggressiveness nearer of what traditional Death Metal bear, with an oppressive playing of bass guitar and drums), and "Fanatical" (very good grunts and screams) and hear what these guys are up to.
"The Autocatalytic Process" shows a mature and strong work of a band that deserves to be heard by Death Metal fans. So the name that they're searching for is ECITON.
