Anagnorisis
Dysnomia
In Brazil, the greater part of Metalheads don't care for bands from the country. Yes, it's what I call sometimes "SEPULTURA's Effect", because people here only paid attention to the band when they conquered Europe and USA. Is this hard for you to believe? I couldn't believe if I didn't see it every single day. There are fine works here, as "Anagnorisis", the second album from the quartet DYSNOMIA, from São Carlos (São Paulo).
Playing a mix between Technical Death Metal elements with modern Thrash Metal energy (like bands as THE HAUNTED on its earlier works), we have in hands an album that fuses a brutal grasp and aggressive insight with fine melodies. It can be a simple description, but go beyond what my words can describe. It's really personal and different from what we already saw from the genre, even here in Brazil. The fine technical insight the band uses aligned with refined melodies demands a good sound quality. It was built in a way that all the band's musical elements can be heard and understood fully, due the clear aesthetics that the album bears. It fits perfectly on their musical work, but pay attention: the aggressiveness is in such level that can rip your flesh from your bones!
Mature in the view of their past works, "Anagnorisis" can be named as one of the best albums of the year here in Brazil.Songs as the technical and explosive "Anagnorisis" with its fine guitars and raw vocals, the musically rich "Vorax Chronos" (filled with fine musical arrangements, especially on bass guitar and drums), the traditional Death/Thrash Metal song "Janus - Faced Serpents", the groove parts heard on "Library of Babel", and the regional music influences that can be heard on "Sertões" are the album's finest moments. Hear it and be prepared for their violent assault!
