This trend of bands from the 80s with their albums being released again is so boring...

Yes, it's boring to death, because many bands died without saying anything because the greater part of them really had nothing to say. It's not a matter of justice of historical research, just the straight thoughts and words: what lies buried in the past is dead, so leave it there. But there are always those who want to waste time and money in such effort. That's the reason for a band like DREAMSTATE having their album "Beyond the Mirror" released again.

It's just that old form of playing a heavy Progressive Metal that we are all full of knowing and hearing. Sorry, but if you already know names as QUEENSRYCHE, WATCHTOWER, FATES WARNING and others, leave this aside. You'll find nothing really different from what you heard again and again, and being honest, on a better shape. It's not only moldy, but boring to death.

Even the remastering of the album couldn't save the sound quality that seems to be is that one from a Demo Tape from the 80s. But originally, this tape/LP came to the light of day on 1994, so there are no excuses for such bad sound quality. At that time, independent bands already had access to better equipment to record a decent Demo, and here is not the case. Remastering an album doesn't mean that it will create a miracle

Being a compilation from the original tape from "Beyond the Mirror", with "Mind Gallery" coming from a 1996 compilation Track 1996, and "Secrets in the Universe" and "Strange Rooms" coming from a Demo from 1998, it could be a good album, but the sound quality and the lack of personality is annoying during all the album. "When I Fall", "Lies" (with some good guitar riffs), "Shadow Dancer", the good work from bass guitar and drums on "Faces", the not so boring musical arrangements on "Heroes and Love", the tender melodies from "Instant Sanity" and "Mind Gallery" could be said as the best parts. But they aren't worthy of a try for those that already know the bands I named above.

Sorry, but with many albums deserving such a chance, it's a waste of time (and money) to rescue "Beyond the Mirrors".
