As always, it must be said that the fans can't face a parallel work of known musicians as a sequence of what they play on their main bands. Some musicians have the need to play on other ways according to their own musical tastes (that sometimes is wider than radical fans would like). The best was is: face the parallel work as something different, not related to the main musical work. And it fits on what can be heard on "Sic Semper Tyrannis", the first album of the trio DISTRÜSTER. The trio is composed of experienced musicians of different countries (one is from UK, the others from Poland) that played in known acts as TERRORDOME, VADER, DECAPITATED, BELPHEGOR, and others. What this release presents: a mix between Crust/Grindcore influences with Death Metal, reminding the fans of what can be heard on acts as NAPALM DEATH, ANAL CUNT, DISRUPT, but on works of BOLT THROWER, BENEDICTION and others, for it's a blend of many different influences.

It's kind of different from the usual, but's really great to hear a band doing something extreme in this uncompromised way, without using an exacerbate technical level and with such aggressive energy. M. (in reality, Darkside of MGŁA and KRIEGSMASCHINE) is the one who signs the recordings, mixing and mastering of the album. And even trying to make something that can be said 'classical' in terms of Death Metal, the sonority is understandable and defined, but using caustic instrumental tunes.

The album is really great to be heard fully. But for those who need referential frames to begin with, "Nobody Dares" (a brutal mix of some Death Metal parts with Hardcore/Crust influences, creating many hooks, especially due the excellent guitar riffs), "Now" (another mix, but this time flowing more into a Grindcore/Death Metal trend, and the vocals are really excellent, different from the usual grunts and snarls of the genre), "Die!" (it's a short song, so be prepared for a hooking Crust/Grindcore blow in the ears), "To Live Beautifully" (it's a slower song, with tempos reminding a lot the Old British Death Metal School, with great guitars and solos), "Burning. Open. Wounds" (another moment hard to resist to, with a massive and excellent rhythmic work of bass guitar and drums), "Over and Over" (a song that has a bitter slow part in the beginning, but that brings the hooking extreme Hardcore/Crust appeal back), "Loyal to None" (another moment with the Crust/Grindcore side of the band's musical work in evidence), and "Calm Under Fire" (this one bears guitar parts influenced heavily by NWOBHM and 70's Hard Rock melodies, and it's not a joke) are the right ones for it, besides the album is as addictive as a big cup of coffee.

In the end of everything, "Sic Sempre Tyrannis" deserves to be heard at the loudest volume possible, but take care of the ears because DISTRÜSTER won't have mercy on them for sure!
