Deadalus - Remnant of Oblivion album cover

At the first music seconds from this album, we can get a wrong idea of its musical content. Yes, the first accords of it could make you think of a Thrash Metal band, but soon, guttural vocals arise and a extremely good playing of bass and drums comes out from the speakers.

So DEADALUS is a very good Technical Death Metal band, and "Remnant of Oblivion". And they come from Belgium, a fertile and good country for Metal maniacs. And in their musical work, you can feel that these guys are really maniacs!

They play their musical work with a powerful and abrasive energy, but with a very good level of technique appearing as well. But it has some very catching moments in their mix of guttural and aggressive grunts, technical and abrasive guitars, and very good rhythmic kitchen as well. Of course Technical Death Metal is nothing new at all, but their way of making it has a different point: there's a clear equilibrium between aggressiveness and technique. And so on, some Thrash Metal riffs as well. It's abrasive, it's aggressive, it's excellent!

The sound quality is dry and excellent, with very good tunes used in all instruments (especially on guitars), and we can reach every little musical detail of their work with no problem. And this makes clear that the band is rich in terms of musical arrangements.

Seven songs, seven very good pieces of extreme Metal with some traditional touches, so nephews and nieces of Ol' Big Daddy here, prepare yourselves for assaults like the brutal and abrasive "An Adverse Event Horizon" (great drums and bass guitar in this one), the explosive "Fathom", and the perfect "In Timeless Patterns" (here, some melodies arise from guitar riffs, and has very good vocals as well). But keep in mind: the entire album is very good.
