When I speak about Metal scene in Brazil, sometimes it seems that nothing is happening here at all, because only a few of our bands can show their works out of here, and have their CDs released overseas. But here, the energy is in a very high level, seeming like in Big Bang's first moments. And as 2013 is being a year of great works arising, it's time for DARKTOWER to arise with their first Full Length, "...Of Chaos and Ascension".

First of all: forget any labels when hearing their work, for even some can classify it as "extreme Metal", they use a very ample range of influences to create something new, as violent and oppressive as sound melodic. And no, this writer's not kidding.

Harsh vocals alternating with low grunts and clean voices, powerful guitar riffs and very good solos, bass heavy and technical at very same time, drums works as a clock in terms of keeping the crushing weight, but with a very good technique and changing of tempos. And no doubt: it sounds with life, and is very particular of them

The sound production was done by the band themselves, having the recording, mixing and mastering done by the Pirozzi brothers Rômulo and Murilo (who were at the band during the recordings, leaving it a little after that), and it sound as clean as heavy, without leaving brutality or melodies out in any moment of the CD. The artwork is a beautiful work from Rodolfo Ferreira (the band's drummer through Obsidian Designs, his parallel work), focusing in the more occult and ancient ways that DARKTOWER uses as lyrical theme in an intelligent way.

Highlights? All the album is perfect, but for sure tracks as "Dawn of Darkened Times" (great works from vocals and guitars, with alternating tempos for all the song), the brutal and aggressive "Retaliation" (pay attention to the drums technique, showing a musical diversity seem in a few times), the more melodic "Vengeful Warrior" (a perfect song, in orchestrations giving a touch of refinement to it), and the apocalyptic destroyer of ears and necks "Rise of the Dark Tower" (an old song from them, that is granted with a more heavy and elegant approach, with charming guitar riffs and powerful work of bass guitar).

This album was born to greatness, to be a reference to Metal scene in Brazil, and to show that, besides all difficulties, here the bands cam do the finest music you can expect, so, when hearing this CD, you all will feel the strength and power of the Anne's Specters...
