Danger Danger - Revolve album cover

This new effort of DANGER DANGER does not seem very impressive. Apart from Ted Poley, who does an amazing job behind the microphone, this album has not much to offer. Despite its nice start with That's What I'm Talking About, there are some tracks that constitute this release which have exceeded and maybe mistaken the meaning of melodic Hard Rock, such as Fugitive, where the melody is just boring, Hearts Of Love (slipping to mainstream American style Rock) and Rocket To Your Heart (kinda sounds like SMASHING PUMPKINS).

In general the whole album lacks the energy, even though there are good compositions like the guitar hook in Beautiful Regret and the sleazy sound,  Never Give Up, Ghost Of Love with its nifty guitar/keys combo,  Killing Love that seems like AOR is wedded with an extra dash of heaviness (although the melody is awfully disrupted) and the last track Dirty Mind, which is a nice song to end (and last to fix maybe the listener's impression about this whole release).

Keep On Keeping On together with FU$ probably are the best tracks of this album, just because they present a bit more energy than the rest of the songs, I suppose. Rod Marcello took Andy Timmons' place on guitars; I don't know if that explains the sound updates, but even if that is the case, luckily the voice of Ted Poley still leads to the thought that this could be a DANGER DANGER release.
Revolve's production is not the problem here. There are parts with quite good melodies, parts that just don't have any interest and sometimes parts where the lyrics are for the birds. Try to listen to this album just to find yourself in the unhappy position of measuring the good moments of Revolve versus the boring ones.
