New World Order
Crowdance
A marriage of a lot of musical influences, with good tempo changes and some electronic effects (without becoming an Industrial band), powerful guitar riffs and good solos, a well worked rhythmic kitchen, great arrangements of keyboards, and a vocalist making the same style of singing like Messiah Marcolin. Yes, the Greek band CROWDANCE really seems to have guts to open new doors in Metal. And their first work, the EP "New World Order", is a good sample of what they're about.
Yes, they really break some laws to bring fresh air into their music, and the quintet got some very good results with a work melodic, with bits of aggressiveness and powerful, but with some touches of melancholy here and there. And this all sounds new to my ears.
The production done by Thomas Nastos is really good, even with the EP being an independent work (in other words, paid by the own band), with all the instruments sounding clear to our ears, with good quality and weight, and the sound effects programmed by Panos Lagdas gave a weird (but good) special touch to the songs.
These three songs that we have in hand, ("Awakening", "New World Order" and "Cemetery of Souls") are all very good. "Awakening" has a more mid speed tempo, where the programmed effects appear a lot, along with great riffs, and good melodies. "New Order" is a modern Metal song, with good tempo changes, more aggressive, with excellent bass and drums work. And "Cemetery of Souls" is a more melancholic song, with vocals doing a very fine work (the contrast between guttural voices with normal ones is very fine, along with more introspective moments of clean guitars).
Fine work indeed, but I hope for an album coming soon to have a more clear idea of what they're about.<
