Confession - Life And Death album cover

Strong and extremely aggressive, the Australian quintet CONFESSION comes again with their new album, "Life and Death".

Well, they are known as a Hardcore band, but too brutal and with good musical arrangements, as well we can hear great melodies on guitars, giving some Metalcore embodiment to their work (but if you're looking for clean vocals, don't come near), some keyboards here and there giving a touch of elegance to their musical attack of brutality. And no, your Old Big Daddy here isn't going too far.

Very good vocals, going from low grunts to screams in harsh tunes, excellent guitars doing a hard attack on riffs and some leads, bass and drums giving support in a well worked and heavy rhythmic basis. So prepare to see the walls trembling and your neighborhood cursing and yelling at you! And if wasn't enough, there are guests as Ahren Stringer of THE AMITY AFFLICTION on "Holy War", Adrian Fitipaldes of NORTHLANE on "Old Blood", Joel Birch (another member from The Amity Affliction) on "51-73", and Karl Schubach of MISERY SIGNALS on "Fear".

The band had a great support, because the album was recorded in California (USA) with renowned engineer Dan Castleman (who worked previously with AS I LAY DYING and IMPENDING DOOM), so their music gained strength and aggressiveness, but it's extremely clear in terms of sound quality.

Their best moments: the oppression called "Still Breathing", the hooking grasp of "Hollow" (how I love this kind of song, with mid tempo and great guitar arrangements, made to bang heads until aches appear on the neck), the oppressive "Fuck Cancer" (filled by great keyboards and extremely vocals, another mid tempo song. And yes, fuck this cursed sickness!), "March 23" (with great violin intro, excellent keyboards and drums works, in a very introspective and brutal song), the almost Metalcore "Old Blood", and the excellent "Death".

An almost perfect album indeed, so buy it. MP3 is for sissies.
