Death, Doom And Destruction (Reissue)
Cianide
In these times we are living by now, it's an era of re-recorded albums, reissues and Dolly Metal clones. But of course the things are not as worse as some can think of. No, there are good new and creative bands appearing, the clones appear and go into nothing in a very short time, and some reissues are really fine pieces of excellent songs. But there are those that are time losses, and those that are just good albums. In this last group, is "Death, Doom And Destruction", an album from 1997, released by CIANIDE, a quartet from Chicago, Illinois (USA), that still active.
It's a Death Metal band, simple and straight. Of course this is just a description of their musical style, but not the whole picture of it, because they use very good tempo changes and some good riffs, but keeping their work as traditional as they can into Death Metal. No, there's no space for melodies or experimentalisms, just the old and good 90's Death Metal, aggressive and abrasive as it was played back then. And of course: do not ask them for something, because they are on Metal since 1988. They are veterans on this war.
The sound quality is raw, but what could we expect from an album released in the middle of the 90s? Please, put it on the count.
Having the guests Nick Hernandez and Brice Dalzell (both on additional vocals on "Metal Never Bends" and "(We Are the) Doomed"), and their presences here is a special temper for the album, where songs as "This World Will Burn" (with a very hooking tempo, and presenting some good riffs), "Metal Never Bends" (another crushing and hooking song, with a very easy and good work on bass guitar and drums), and the brutal " Deadly Spawn" are their best songs. But as bonus, we have some songs of the album on their Demo versions, and a fine as brutal version for MASTER's "The Truth".
A good album to hear and have at home.
