Death Metal seems to be the Metal genre with the greatest number of adepts. As well, due this quantity, it's the Metal genre that suffers a lot due to the limitations. Bands and bands don't seem to have enough creative power to breed something of their own, and even don't have enough personality to push things a little harder. But in few cases, some bands, even without creating something new, do works that honor the fans. Bands like BRUTART, from Slovenia. Their second work, "Wear My Skin", is a good album, indeed. They play a form of traditional Death Metal with some touches of Stoner/Groove Metal influences, what make their music sounds bitter as Hell, but being aggressive and earning a good technical level. Of course they don't play something new at all, but their work shows personality. They can be better and can mature a little more in the future, but they are doing a very good work by now.

The sound quality is really very good: clear, aggressive and raw as their musical work demands to be (we're talking about a Death Metal album, mind you all), but with a very good clean sense. Yes, they sound aggressive and clear in the due proportions, what makes the assimilation of "Wear My Skin" an easy task. The brutality of "Evil Eve" and "Monodark" with their technical work (especially from bass guitar and drums), the brutal grasp of the guitar riffs of "The World at the End of the Light", the bittersweet slow tempos and somber parts of "Hollow Heights" and its fine vocals, the introspective rawness of "Devils Thrill", and the harsh melodies and good guitar solos of "Children for Despair" can be pointed as the album's finest moments.

They are a good band, indeed, but they can do better. So let's hope they will be back soon!
