Blood Red Saints - Undisputed album cover

Glam Metal acts can play in a melodic way similar to JOURNEY, BON JOVI and FIREHOUSE, or in a nasty and crude way with influence inherited from AC/DC. There are no limits in a musical genre, only when the creativeness of the musicians says so. And many bands, even playing in an old way, can make things sound new and fresh due the recollections of internal influences. And BLOOD RED SAINTS is one of them, as can be heard on "Undisputed".

This UK based quartet plays a form of Glam Metal that can be near of Rock Arena names as BON JOVI, but influences of AC/DC and LED ZEPPELIN can be heard as well, and some traces of AOR are clear. But they present something that's really charming and deserves respect due the personal insight they use. It's great, and what lovely melodies, catchy choruses and other elements the show during all the songs. The powerful sonority of "Undisputed" is what could be expected from a band that gives priority to hooking and charming melodies: clean and defined, with emphasis on the definition of things and lovely instrumental tunes. Yes, it's really a very good work.

"This Ain't a Love Song" is heavily influenced by LED ZEPPELIN and some AC/DC-like crude guitars, with very charming chorus, and what very good work on vocals and backing vocals; "Love Like War" has a tender energy flowing from the guitars once more, but with a charming melodic appeal; "Heaven in the Headlights" is orientated for a broader public due the accessible insight used on its melodies (it would be a success on radios on the 80's), but with a solid work on bass guitar and drums, and what lovely chorus; the AOR/Pop energy of "Karma" is hard to resist, as happens once more on "Come Alive" (this is a hit for the shows for sure); and the heavy weight used to temper the accessible melodies of "Undisputed" (very good and heavy guitars). These are the best ones for begin with the album.

It's a great work what is heard on "Undisputed", so let's hope that the pandemic can be over as soon as possible to have a live experience of the album, because BLOOD RED SAINTS is really great!
