Lucifer's Bride
BlackSnake
We're all used to thing that Metal from certain countries are only in one way, for many, on England there were only NWOBHM bands, and Poland is a country well known for extreme Metal bands, but it's not always a true. No, for BLACKSNAKE, an insane quartet that comes from Poland, and in "Lucifer's Bride" we can hear a strong, melodic and strong Stoner Metal.
Their music cannot be labeled simply as Stoner Metal as I did above. No, for it's not as oiled as some traditional names from the style and they do some more fast and catching melodies and arrangements, some reminding earlier Punk / Hardcore or maybe earlier Thrash Metal. And it's good.
Strangely for the style, they preferred to do a clean sound production, even when they're really sounding as a Stoner band, but a clean sound doesn't mean a soft sound. They can weight as heavy as you want, having all instruments appearing separately, and sounding heavy. The art is a fine piece, with a devil-like woman on the cover.
Their greater moments: "Lucifer's Bride" (a full-time Stoner song, with good guitar riffs and great chorus), the hooky and heavy "Pan Demon Ium" (even with some more Hard Rock moments), the more "Rock'n'Roll" trendy of "Black Rider" (good drums and bass passages here), the charming "Warning", and the energetic and almost Punk "Say Goodbye to Heaven" (the vocals are nasty and melodic, doing a fine work).
Good name, indeed, and deserves a careful listening.
