Balls Gone Wild - High Roller album cover

It seems that the dirty ways of Rock 'n' Roll and Hard Rock are in commercial evidence once more. These words are based upon the high number of bands playing in such way, like the deaths of Lemmy and Malcolm Young unleashed a wild run to be in their places or to pay homage to their legacies. So the German trio BALLS GONE WILD is one of those bands spoken above. But paying some attention to their latest release, "High Roller", won't be a waste of time.

Their work is really a fine and melodic meeting between musical aspects inherited from the legacies left by MOTÖRHEAD and AC/DC, a wild and savage form of music<, but tempered with very good melodies and with some Punk Rock touches. But these three guys have guts enough to play it in their own way, and besides it's nothing new at all, the way they're doing things is very personal. On the production, things are all right. It sounds in a way that every listener can understand their music fully, so it's definitively defined and clean. But it bears enough dirty to sound organic an uncompromised as well. So it fits in their work in an excellent way.

Like spitting in the eyes, these three German bears are here to thunder into the ears of the fans, and songs as the nasty "High Roller" (very good harsh voices and chorus), the Punk Rock/Rock 'n' Roll energetic songs called "Leave Me Alone" (again very good chorus and a sharp set of catching guitar riffs), the melodic and smoky Hard Rock song "Danger", the simple melodies of "Keep It Hot" (very good work from bass guitar and drums), the Hardcorized and fast "Mofo", the nasty and blunt rhythm of "Balls Gone Wild", and the melodies of "Flying High" are enough to unleash Hell into your living room, playing this album at the loudest volume possible.

So free these wild dogs of Rock 'n' Roll, and let BALLS GONE WILD conquer your heart!
