Sometimes, albums that were released before gain a new chance from record labels, or by the bands themselves. The reason is simple: maybe when things clean up a little, maybe a greater public can grant the band the attention they deserve. And this is the case from the Quebec home based quartet AUGURY. Yes, these four maniacs from Canada are up to something great with their reissue for "Fragmentary Evidence".

They're a Progressive Death Metal band. Explaining: they play Death Metal with great technical approach, some influences from Jazz and Progressive Rock under the musical brutality. Yes, it's heavy and as brutal as you can conceive, but played with greats amounts of technique and with some melodies appearing (especially in guitar solos), as well tender and more atmospheric moments. Offering great grunts (with some melodic voices appearing in many points of the album), a perfect work done on guitars, bass and drums forming a strong, heavy and very technical rhythmic session, they can really gain us by the ears.

The sound quality is very, very good, indeed. It's heavy as a Death Metal band needs, but extremely clear for our ears comprehend and our minds can assimilate their work with no greater difficulties.

These 9 songs are all extremely precious, and I have to say that you can't dispose of no one of them. But I recommend you to hear for the first time the fully Jazz-istic "Simian Cattle" (a very technical and abrasive song, with violent riffs and great work done by bass guitar), the experimental and brutal "Jupiter To Ignite" (again a fine work done on guitars, but this drummer is an octopus, due his incredible and fine technique!), the heavy and wonderful "Sovereigns Unknown" (this guy from drums is not human... And very good clean voices appear here wonderfully in the middle of great grunts), and the long and technical "Oversee the Rebirth" (a fine piece of what they have to show and to say, with very good vocals again).

Give a chance to their album, and hear it. Or, better saying, give a chance to yourselves, dear nephews and nieces!
