Ireland has a very good Metal scene. But even now, when technology unites the entire world, we still have problems to be able to hear some names from there. I don't know how things work in the Metal scene there. Obviously, names as the ancient (and wonderful) THIN LIZZY, TROJAN, CRUACHAN, PRIMORDIAL and some others are known outside of the country, but there aren't notorious names coming from Irish scene by now. Maybe APOSTATE VIATICUM can be a good name in the future, because we can hear on "Before the Gates of Gomorrah" sounds like we are facing a good promise.

They play a traditional form of Death Metal, but with a different insight that can be due the time we are living now or it could be a factor in the Metal scene of the country. But although they have a strong and bold personality, fusing elements of traditional English Death Metal from the 90s with Doom Death Metal, they still need to mature in some parts. But they are talented, so the future seems great to them. The songs of "Before the Gates of Gomorrah" are sounding nasty and raw beyond the necessary. Of course we can understand what they are playing, but this rawness could ride many of the details of their musical work. It's good, but could be excellent, but the tunes they have chosen are in a good shape. But we can consider a good work for a first album (and it's their first release as well).

Their songs are very good, but if they could be a little shorter, the effect could be better for our ears too. But their musical work has a strong identity, then we can say that they just need more shows and rehearsals to get in the right point. For now, songs as the bitter thunder called "Anathema Inherent" (that shows excellent tempo changes and a very good work from bass guitar and drums), the brutal grasp of "Moloch the Sanguinary", the raw energy flowing from the slow tempos of "In the Shadow of the Monolith" (very good vocal parts, with this particular harsh tunes) and on "Before the Gates of Gomorrah" (another fine piece of a funeral procession, with very good distorted guitar riffs).

These guys truly have a good future!
