Descent Into The Maelstrom
Anarchos
A good revelation coming from the Netherlands, blasting Death Metal in a more 90's way. It's what ANARCHOS is up to with the EP "Descent into the Maelstrom", their first release.
In a more traditional trend, sounding like a mix from Floridian and Swedish Death Metal schools, it's extremely brute, insane and heavy. Their music is nothing new at all, but a good breakthrough for these extreme Metal guys, and we can expect great things from them in the future.
The sound production is good, making the quintet music sound heavy and dirty as a Death Metal band must be, but without the superposing of the instruments, turn the songs comprehensible to all.
"Anointing of the Sick", "Morbid Ways to Decay", "The Great Black Death" (with some slower and good tempos), "Sarggeburt" and "Tales of the Mutilated Remains" are all fine songs, each one with their own shine. But they need to do something more: put a little of their own personality on their music. They sound really good, but need some personal touches from them. But the Ol' Big Daddy here believes that it's a matter of time and experience.
Hope they can come back soon, put more brutal and extreme music into our ears.
