Out from the woods of Eastern Norway comes a sound that can not be ignored. MADDER MORTEM, underdogs and outsiders of the Norwegian metal scene since 1997, are back!!
Throughout their long history, they've released six critically acclaimed albums and toured Europe with bands like Tristania, Opeth and Soen. Now they're ready to record a new album, but first they're going back on the road to put some backbone into music again.
The Madders first met Martin Lopez when they toured with Opeth in 2003, sharing a bus for six weeks and talking endlessly about music. In the spring of 2017, the opportunity to tour with Lopez' new band Soen finally arrived. After an amazing reception from the Soen fans, and having a blast both on and off stage, Madder Mortem is now joining Soen for the second leg of their LYKAIA tour in Europe, hitting stages in Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.
Madder Mortem has always been known for their unique sound and their relentless will to put the music first. Though some band members have occasionally been involved in other projects (such as Age of Silence, Frantic Bleep, Nordagust, Chrome Division), Madder Mortem is where the band puts their souls on the line. Next year will see them in the studio again to record a new album, with the following title MARROW. Live, they push the music right to the edge, because it is all about honesty. Music needs to be real, to come from the heart ' from the blood, the bone and the marrow.
