David had a chat with vocalist Isak about the new album, the Swedish metal scene and the benefits of record labels for up-and-coming bands.

The band has released six full-length studio albums to date, with the newest entitled "The Puritan" in 2015. Dave was fortunate enough to be able to sit down with guitarist Marios Iliopoulos to talk with him about the band and the new album.

Sweden's SOILWORK are undeniably one of the world's most important Melodic Death Metal bands. The band doesn't seem to quit, dropping a new release each year for the last 3 years; 2015 saw them releasing a new live album/dvd, "Live in the Heart of Helsinki"; a career-spanning live set that included guest appearances by Floor Jansen (NIGHTWISH) and Nathan J. Biggs (SONIC SYNDICATE). Chelsea had a short chat with drummer Dirk about the idea behind the new DVD and working towards a new studio album.

A German Speed-Thrash band; the greatest kind that riff the Earth. Hailing from Leopoldsburg, EVIL INVADERS is inspired from the early Thrash bands of the 80's and breaks up the frenesis with bouts of NWOBHM harmonies and melodies. With a new album titled "Pulses of Pleasure" out now, and having recently toured Europe successfully and extensively, Chelsea had an informative chat with vocalist/guitarist Joe about the new album, their recent obliteration of the greater part of Europe and the possibility of a North American tour.

As stalwart Hard Rockers for nearly 3 decades, Swedish-Canadian band KILLER BEE made a comeback after 15 years with studio albums in 2011, 2012 and 2013, and a new compilation album titled "Rock Another Day" this year, comprised of previous work and designed to introduce the band to the US market. Aaron spoke bassist Anders about the new piece of work, and a new studio album of original material, tentatively titled "Eye In The Sky" due later this year.

DARKEST ERA are a Celtic-influenced (somewhat, according to Krum) Heavy Metal band from Ireland, riding on the wave of Irish Metal coming out of the woodwork in recent years, such as PRIMORDIAL, CELTACHOR and MALTHUSIAN. With the latest album, "Severance", out in June of last year, the band have been enjoying a new era, touring the new material, recently accepting new drummer Cameron into the fold. Danny had a few words with vocalist Krum about the lyrical content of the new album and why people shouldn't immediately look to the Celtic moniker, how the band is getting along with their new drummer and his take on the Irish scene.

After a beneficial four year break, LIAR SYMPHONY is back for good! The quintet of musicians from Brazil, who perform in a classic Heavy Metal style, adding a lot of Power and Progressive nuances to their sound. Their fifth studio album "Before the End" released in late 2014 is their best by far, the second incarnation is a triumphal return in shape!

Notable for making use of vibrant orchestrations on top of a triple guitar assault, their initial performances at festivals such as MetalFest Open Air cemented their sound for enthusiastic audiences. 2014 saw the release of their sophomore album, "Age Of Pandora"; Matt Coe spoke with drummer Dominik Ziegler about the new album and the band's exponential growth as individual musicians.

The solo project of Norwegian Melodic Rock musician Isabell Oversveen, ISSA has brought to the table a fourth full-length, in the form of "Crossfire". Much like Swedish labelmates WORK OF ART, ISSA stands between 'not-metal' and pop that isn't commercially accessible; a massively-melodic, all-round AOR good time. Dave had a few questions for Isabell about the new album, her influences, Norwegian fjords and an upcoming UK tour.

South America is a veritable melting pot for all things metal, including the brilliant Power Metal band, DEUS X MACHINA. Their most recent album, "X", is inspired by traditional, European Power Metal in the vein of HELLOWEEN and SONATA ARCTICA and is topped off with that characteristic flair and personality that can only be found in the likes of Latin Metal bands. YngwieViking had a lengthy talk with Donny about the new album, the band's background, the Latin scene and the new label.

Metal Temple writer Calen Nesten had the opportunity to talk with AGNOSTIC FRONT frontman Roger Miret about the upcoming release, the slow death of underground music, their love of Berlin and $3000 punk jackets.

DESERT is an Epic Dark Metal band from Israel, and "Never Regret" is their second full-length album release on Raven Records. Having recently shared the stage with some massive bands like ELUVEITIE, they are one of Israel's greatest Metallic exports. Daniel had a lengthy, light-hearted and thorough with Joey, albeit rife with some connection difficulty, about the new band, the new album, the risky use of the word 'supergroup' and the happenings with his two main bands.

In an era full of clones of what existed a long time ago, it's good to see veteran bands arise with very good musical works. And some has more to say that those who hear some albums from the 80's and try to make the time backwards. No, the greater ones always look into the future, as the French quintet NO RETURN does. Their latest album, "Fearless Walk to Rise", is a very good lesson for many of how to have a modern sound with attitude and personality. Marcos had the opportunity to interview them, and here is the result.

Possibly their most immense piece of work to date, (and rightly so, given the 5-year back between "Reptillian" and now), resident Metal Expert, Marcos "Big Daddy" Garcia" had a chat with Vyl (considerably shortened due to a lapse in communication regarding the interviewee) about the themes of the new album, the new vigor the band has returned with, and Obsidian taking on vocals.

Utah-based Epic Heavy Metal band VISIGOTH burst onto the West Coast Metal scene in recent times; their debut album, "The Revenant King", has been met with critical acclaim from music press, released on the ephemeral Metal Blade Records. Taking the chunky heaviness of the classic Metal bands and embellishing it with the melody and grandiosity of acts such as BROCAS HELM and MANILLA ROAD (whose song "Necropolis" was featured as a cover on the new album), what could have been a tried-and-true, stale "another one of those", breathes fresh air into the genre. Daniel Fox spoke with vocalist Jake Rogers about the helmed warrior on the front, the love of MANILLA ROAD and the sounds and themes of the new album.

A truly wonderful Heavy/Power Metal band to come out of Germany in recent years, ALPHA TIGER have recently come out with a new powerhouse, titled "iDentity"; a rather cynical jab at the domination of electronics over society and the human psyche, released under a new deal with SPV/Steamhammer. Gil Leht had a talk with guitarist Peter Langforth about their decision to continue with the quasi-Orwellian concepts driven by their previous album, "Man Or Machine", the recent departure of vocalist Stefan and their rocky history with record deals.

The Gentle Storm

Longtime friends and collaborators, Anneke Van Giersbergen and Arjen Lucassen have teamed up to create more music; this time, they have created a full album together, under the band name, "The Gentle Storm". Early 2015 sees the release of the debut album, "The Diary", and will feature over 40 instruments played by a wide range of musicians. Anamaria shared a few words with Anneke about the new band, the new album's concept nature and her future solo work.

Perhaps Portugal's most well-known Metal band, Gothic/Dark Metallers MOONSPELL have been making waves in international Metal scenes, particularly those of Europe, with their dark, reverberating, Doom-fuelled music and eclectic performances. The second album to be released as per their 2011 deal with Napalm Records, "Extinct" is set to bring about a new standard of bombast and epicness for the band; which is why Mike Coyle had an in-depth chat with the band's vocalist, Fernando Ribeiro.

Neal Morse is one of the biggest and boldest names in the modern Progressive music scene, with a long and impressive discography under his belt, ranging from SPOCK'S BEARD to TRANSATLANTIC, often co-operating with long-time friend and colleague, drummer extraordinaire Mike Portnoy; now, Neal focuses his attention towards TRANSATLANTIC and his ephemeral solo work. Daniel had a quick, but indepth chat with Neal about hew new album, why it was such a grand experiment and the challenges that come with writing and performing 20+ minute songs.

AKTOR may well be one of the most ambiguous and mysterious Metal/Rock bands in existence. A multinational co-operative between two Finnish serialists,

Jussi Lehtisalo and Tomi Leppänen, and Heavy Metal singer-songwriter Professor Black in the US,

they play a self-proclaimed "Top 40 Heavy Metal", deliberately accessible, and literally let themselves be carried on their own current. V. Srikar shared a chat with Professor Black about the new album and the nature of collaborating with artists half a world away.

WARDENCLYFFE is an eclectic Doom/Death Metal band from Sweden; masterminded by Dr. Jacob Nordangård. With their music heavily steeped in philosophy and dark metaphors, often dabbling in clandestine, socio-political intrigue and even Freemasonry, they certainly create Doom for the thinking-metalhead. Bränisläv Stänojević spoke to Jacob about the album's thematic ties to the global system, and its references towards Nikola Tesla and Freemasonry.

RAUNCHY has been in the top echelon of modern Melodic Metal in Scandinavia for over a decade, and yet… Criminally overlooked, which may or may not be due to the fact that their home country of Denmark is looked more towards for the blistering, extreme metal underground, unlike their more melodically-inclined Swedish neighbours. 2015 sees the release of "Vices.Virtues.Visions", showcasing the talents of new vocalist, Mike Semesky: the previous frontman of THE HAARP MACHINE and INTERVALS. Metal Temple's Daniel spoke with Mike about the album's vices, virtues and visions, the place of their new music in the context of modern society, and a little about cyber dystopia.

Decline of the I

When we deal with extreme Metal subgenres in France, we must have in mind that, in the 90's, the country gave birth to an ideological movement called LLN (Les Légions Noires) that would be seen as the mark zero from Black Metal on the country. Of course this made a way for extreme Metal bands arise in the future; turning French lands a fertile soil for Black Metal. And one of the good names on the scene is DECLINE OF THE I, from Paris. It's a project from A. K., a multi-instrumentalist involved in underground of Metal scene for more than 15 year. But we got a chance to interview him, so, we are pleased with the chance.

ALUNAH is a band that is, by rights, on the lips of many a metalhead in the UK scene, and those savvy with the Doom/Stoner/Psychedelic echelons of Metal. Fronted by the charismatic Sophie Day, they bring something a little different to the Doom palette - female-fronted Stoner; far more straightforward and Rock-oriented than the spacey and fuzzy WINDHAND, of similar proclivities, ALUNAH's set is nonetheless enchanting. Danny Sanderson recently had a chance to speak with Sophie about the new album, the new record deal and plans for the future.

Yesterday's Saints

Yesterday's Saints is a unique heavy metal band based out of Washington, DC. Formed in 2010, the band released their first demo album in 2011. Since then, they have been busy working on this new concept album called "Generation of Vipers." David had an indepth discussion with the entire band about the obvious religious themes on the new album, and how the band has shaped their unique sound.
