Tobias Netzell
In Mourning
An end can be interpreted as a ceasing to exist, finishing up or retiring, yet it can also me a new beginning, the start of something new, maybe fresh, maybe back to the roots. Melodic Death / Doom Metallers, In Mourning, decided to put the final stone in their trilogy storyline with "Garden Of Storms", yet they aren't going anywhere, just felt that it was time and brainstorm on other things. Steinmetal talked to the band's veteran member, Tobais Netzell about the new album, inspirations, artwork, lyrical content, music, Metal and more…
Dirk "Heiländer" Heiland
Fatal Embrace
Running with the pack is the easiest thing possible, yet to indulge upon being against the grain, well that could be risky, especially in such a demanding Metal worlds like nowadays. The German Thrash Metallers, Fatal Embrace, throughout their career, never gave up, they always held strong no matter the hardships and odds against them. Through them, the old Metal flame burns bright and their new album "Operation Genocide" is a continued proof of that. Steinmetal had a talk with Dirk "Heiländer" Heiland about the new album, band challenges, their place in the Metal world of the present and more…
Rinus Vreugdenhill
Picture
As if it was written in the stars, it was bound to happen eventually, yet it did cost something for several people. The original lineup of the Dutch veteran Metallers, Picture, is back in action. Well, it did last year with a live CD of one of their earlier albums, and fan favored, "Heavy Metal Ears", yet the band continued forward with their old lineup to release the new "Wings" album, via Pure Steel Records. Steinmetal had a chance to talk to one of the band's prime members, Rinus Vreugdenhill, about coming back and what happened, the new album "Wings" and more…
Damna

ELVENKING

ELVENKING
singer
Damna

Simon Olsen
Baest
With an ample potential to devour the extreme Metal scene, armed by the influence of the deadliest legacies that Metal can offer from its classic days of Doom, steps in the Danish BAEST. After unleashing their debut last year, the boys didn't find the time to rest and they now they are out with "Venenum", their sophomore, and it is no less of an affliction than its predecessor. Steinmetal had a chat with Simon Olsen of the band regarding the fast work already out the window, the band's development, Metal and more
Steve Grimmett
Grim Reaper
Suffering from amputation is an unimaginable experience, it leaves the person distraught, shattered and depressed. However, Grim Reaper's mainman, Steve Grimmett fought and conquered, slowly coming out of the phase he was in before and after the amputation. Celebrating a new album, "At The Gates", via Dissonance Productions, there is a cause for a toast. Steinmetal had a short talk with Steve about the becoming of the new release, current Metal scene and more…
Howard Smith
Acid Reign
They have been there for a while, yet folks barely noticed their presence. They released two tracks since their revamp, four years ago, yet Metalheads still didn't get the memo. Yes, people, the British Thrash Metal phenomenon of the late 80s, early 90s, Acid Reign, is back, and thanks to their new album, "The Age of Entitlement", via their new label, Dissonance Productions, it would be possible to re-experience the craze behind them. Steinmetal talked to the chief Howard Smith, also a comedian, about the new album, coming back, new signing and more…
Toya Johansson
Saint Deamon
Right before drawing its final breath, Saint Deamon was saved from a harsh fate, and revamped back into existence in the melodic end of the world of Metal. Soon enough they will be releasing their comeback album, "Ghost", newly signed to the rising melodic driven label, Ram It Down Records. What better timing was it for Steinmetal to catch Toya Johansson of the band for a small chat regarding the new album, coming back from near extinction, songwriting and more…
Tungsten
Anders Johansson
Family matters, yes, also in Metal music. Though it is not the first time the families are involved in Metal bands, yet to actually have a band with one's next generation, that is quite a treat, yet it might be also a headache. Tungsten was formed by ex-Hammerfall's drummer, Anders Johansson, along with his two sons, and here they are with a debut album, "We Will Rise". Steinmetal talked to Anders about how is it to form a band with family, his appreciation of the boys, the new album and more…
Anton Fingal
Screamer
It doesn't happen a lot, but it is always great to keep track of bands and coming back to them with an interview. No matter the passing time, there is always a step forward. The Swedish Screamer haven't been wasting time all these years, and even though their lineup change, the only way is up. Signing with The Sign Records also continued to pave the road. Steinmetal talked to Anton Fingal of the band about the band's new album "Highway Of Heroes", where the band stands nowadays and more…
James-Paul Luna, Eli Santana, Tyler Meahl

Steve Rice
Imagika
Back from the dead, and into the light, or to be accurate, right into the burning fire of a constantly changing Metal scene. Earlier on the US Power / Thrash Metal Imagika was one of the toughest in the underground of the American Metal scene, however, after a time period, it simply evaporated. I guess it was only a right time to get it back to action. Last year it happened and here we are with a new album and label. Steinmetal talked to the band's founder Steve Rice about getting back together, the new album "Only Dark Hearts Survive" and the experiences behind it.
Markus Becker
Atlantean Kodex
Creating a foundation for Epic kind of Metal is quite demanding, numerous have tried and failed, yet some garnered plenty of power and influence within the Metal scene, whether old school fans or newly bred that new of the name. However, maintaining the kind of depth, and putting one's heart out between the lines of the music, well, that is quite a challenging task. Return to the Metal scene with a new album, after nearly three years, Atlantean Kodex release "The Course Of Empire", via Van Records, continuing their journey into history and fiction with sense towards the classics. Steinmetal had a chat with vocalist Markus Becker regarding the new album's concept, musical effort, Manowar and more…
Oscar Carlquist
RAM
Metal is not just a genre of music; it is a way of life. I think there are more than merely a handful of people that know that, some of them living the life of the ultimate Metalhead. Kind of mysterious. The Swedish Traditional Metal devotees, RAM, have been clinging to the old altar of the music, continuing to believe the in the genuine magic that this genre has been spreading. Celebrating their new album "The Throne Within", Steinmetal talked to Oscar of the band regarding the new release, the true feeling of Heavy Metal, philosophy and more
Jonathon Barwick
Fierce Deity
Like phoenix rising from the desert sand, so did Jonathon Barwick, ex-vocalist / guitarist of the Australian Taberah. As the band was slowly going down the drain, there was a spike. Later on, after several of personal happenings, that spike became a reality, it became Fierce Deity. With the release of a new lyric video called "The Path", along with upcoming tracks to be groomed for a future album, Steinmetal had a talk with Jonathon about what happened in Taberah, the idea of Fierce Deity, new song, Metal studies, production and more…
Jacob Hellenrud
Children of the Sün
Things don't always have to be related to negativity and the depression that has been going on worldwide, instead, life could be celebrated, enjoy the now and the hope that it could be better one day. There has a long line of positivity, yet, most of it died after the 60s, leaving a huge gap for the actual reality to take over. The Swedish Hippies, Children of the Sün, wished to head back decades ago in a spiritual way and relive the Flower Kids through music. Steinmetal talked to Jacob Hellenrud of the band, about being a Hippie type of band, working with a new label, the new album "Flowers" and more…
Dave Garcia
Hellscream
Probably every artist, which holds a side project, has that itch to get back to work on it every once in a while, throughout being busy in his main thing. I can imagine that burst of ideas that don't fit the main attraction, yet do like glove for the side show. It is possible that it has been running in the mind of Cage / The Three Tremors guitarist Dave Garcia with his Hellscream project. Well, he actually came back to work on it, and here we are with a second album, via Pure Steel Records. Steinmetal had a chance to talk to the busy Garcia on "Hate Machine", signing with Pure Steel, songwriting, Manowar and more…
S.A. Destroyer
Nocturnal Breed
For some old school Metal bands, it has been easy with what has been going on in the last 20 years in the worldwide Metal scene. The developed abilities for bands to produce albums fast has taken their toll pretty fast with vast offerings, which a larger some just don't cut it. With standards lowered, Metal music became something different, perhaps not that strong as it is argued. Coming back with fire in their eyes, Black / Thrash Metal mongers Nocturnal Breed, are set with strong emotions of hate towards the modern social order, and not just in the business. Steinmetal talked to S.A. Destroyer, leader of the band, about the comeback, new album, lyrical concepts, current status of the Metal scene and more…
Joey Radziwill
Sacred Reich
Looking at their back catalog, Sacred Reich have been out cold for more than two decades. However, they were always there, as if waiting for the right time to stick their head out, gradually reforming until there are complete, ready to head back to Thrash their way into recognition. And so they did. Sacred Reich released "Awakening", returning to Metal Blade Records, and there is a whole lot of positivity for everyone. Steinmetal had a talk with the band's latest recruit, stellar guitarist, Joey Radziwill, about joining a band after being a fan, "Awakening", Metal and future plans.
Mattes "Randy Outlaw"
Vulture
Being one with Horror, one with old school Metal music, a perfect combination for yet another Vulture album. Surely came as quite an inspiring release from the German gang, "Ghastly Waves & Battered Graves" killed it and it is burning similar to the old flame. Steinmetal had a chance to talk to Mattes aka "Randy Outlaw" of the band regarding the new album, songwriting, covering, marketing and more…
Donny Hiller
Trauma
So much time has passed since the US Metal Band Trauma was armed with Metallica's Cliff Burton. As much as I admire the late bass player, he had a really small impact on the band's material, especially their stellar debut back in 1984. Trauma were able to impact on their own back in the day, and now, with a second album after their return, they are on their own and doing quite good. Steinmetal had a talk with longtime vocalist, Donny Hiller, regarding the band's new album, "As The World Dies", songwriting, past choices and the present.

Markus Bünnemeyer
Temple Of Dread
Sometimes it is hard to resist the urge, the inner will to create, yet the surroundings have to change for it. It is not about taking a chance; it is about to fulfill a vision or else it will be lost forever. Markus Bünnemeyer, of the band Slaughterday, thought it would be best to start something new, breathing life into his ideas and make them come true. Therefore, Temple of Dread was born. Steinmetal caught Markus for a chat about the new project, the heydays of Death Metal, current extreme Metal scene and more.
Winston Ziller
Midnight Prey
It is not about merely getting one's wits together to be creative, it is a passion for the old days. The years where the feeling of natural was a standard in music. However, it has been a long way and the world changed. Nonetheless, there are still those that wish to preserve that old sensation. The newcomer German Midnight Prey have been in on it for some time, and recently delivered their debut album, "Uncertain Times". Steinmetal had a talk with one of the band's founders, Winston Ziller, about the new album, the fascination for vintage times, current Metal and Rock scenes and more.
Przemysław Tomasz Olbryt aka Quazarre
Devilish Impressions
There is a darkened legacy being forged, well it has been forged for some time, yet from the looks of it, there is a good chance that it might rise to a new level of existence. The Polish dark lords, Devilish Impression, are back to haunt, and hunt. Signing with a new label, and releasing an EP that is an eye opener, that is the way to go forward. Steinmetal had chance to talk with the band's founder and leader, Quazarre, about the new EP, the essence of the music and lyrical concepts, promotion and more.
Tomas Ericson
Helvetets Port
No matter the band's previous magnitude on the market, is it always great to welcome back a band after a long time without a studio album. Things could change, or not, but there is new music to feast on. Sweden's Helvetets Port return with "From Life To Death", via their old label High Roller Records, prevailing with their NWOBHM fascination. Steinmetal chatted with Tomas Ericson of the band regarding the new album, musical approach and even K.K. Downing.
Nick Melissourgos
Suicidal Angels
On the verge of collapse, entering a violent cascade that is soon to tear the human race apart from within. It is not the first nor the last time this theme is mentioned. Funny thing is that it became a theme because nobody actually listens. At least there are those that still hail about it. The Greek Suicidal Angels returns with "Years Of Aggression", a new prospect that is bound to make them a Thrash Metal totem. Steinmetal had a chat with Nick Melissourgos, the band's founder, about the new album, the way up in the ladder, evolution of the band's music and Slayer.
Fábio Polato
TraumeR
Europe is still considered the main power base for Metal music, no matter the continent's size. Therefore, for a band outside of Europe to finally release an album there, is quite the occasion to garner a rightful exposure. The Brazilian Metallers, TraumeR, a new journey began, signing with a new label and releasing an album in the center of Metal. Steinmetal had a talk with Fabio Polato of the band regarding the release, course of songwriting, Andre Matos and more
Chris Dinsmore
Mudface
Better to capture attention fast than lose it by prolonging stuff that you are dying to get out of your system. Mudface, a Thrash Metal band from the Bay Area, San Francisco, did that same thing. Unleashing a new EP, signing with a new label for the first time, that's how things should be done. Steinmetal talked to vocalist Chris Dinsmore about the new release, its concept and image, the band's way of doing things and a little bit about Metal.

Kristian "Stan" Havard
Xentrix
It has been a while, in particular when talking about the Xentrix Thrash Metal clan. Surely one of the toughest acts in the late 80s in the UK that brought in a world of pain, pleasurable pain. Just recently, the band came back to releasing albums with "Bury The Pain", via Listenable Records. Steinmetal had a chat with veteran guitarist, Kristian Havard, aka Stan, about the new album, new singer, lyrical concepts and more.
Russ Tippins
Tanith
Heavier, louder and faster might not cut it all the time, and there is a need for a little diversion, a sort of out of scope and into a different realm. Satan's guitarist, Russ Tippins, had a vision for a while, which failed, yet one day everything changed and that vision came to life. Its name is Tanith. Recently the band released its debut album, "In Another Time", via Metal Blade Records. Steinmetal had a talk with the legendary guitarist about the starting of Tanith, new album, classic Metal and more.

Cale Savy
Riot City
Something to hope for, putting all you have got in order to reach a goal. Sounds like a standard in the life the newcomer Canadian Heavy Metal Riot City. Recently, they released their debut album, "Burn the Night" through the Greek label No Remorse Records, and it is just a start. New stuff are being planned and set in motion. Steinmetal has a chance to talk to vocalist / guitarist Cale Savy about the new album, reactions, plans, studio, new opportunities and more.
Steve Kachinsky Blakmoor
Steel Prophet
Steel Prophet are back, and with one hell of a pound. New beginnings bore fruit, signing with a new label, recruiting an explosive frontman and releasing a formidable album, what can a band ask? Well, there are plenty of stuff of course, but a wicked starting point matters. Steinmetal had a talk with longtime band veteran, Steve Kachinsky Blakmoor, about the "The God Machine", signing with a new label, recruiting a badass vocalist, early vocalist, Heavy Metal, and a little Manowar
Marek "Heathen" Steven
Amulet
Even after five years, a burning heart never tires. One of the finest Heavy Metal talents, hailing from the UK, Amulet, is back to storm the scene with a new album, "The Inevitable War". Armed with a new album, a new line up but with a similar classic Metal approach, there is a force to be reckoned with. Steinmetal had a chat with Marek Steven, aka Heathen, about the new album, its contents and looks, a little bit of history, NWOBHM / NWOTHM and Manowar
