India is becoming quite formidable into the world Metal scene.

Some names are coming from that country, full of great social differences and problems. These problems can be seeing as an enhancement for the conditions for Metal bands arise, especially to those ones that devote their efforts to extreme Metal styles.

So, bands as the quintet PRIMITIV can be named as the offspring of these contrasts. And their explosive first record, the album "Immortal & Vile" is really a very good surprise!

Mixing an Old School format of Death Metal, that same one that caused great commotions on the underground on the first half of the 90s, with a personal insight and a thunderous personality, the band focus is not the extreme speed of actual bands, but the bitter weight done with some slow tempos and very good technical insight. No, they aren't a Doom Death Metal band, but it is something between the aggressive insight that GOREFEST used on the earlier works with the explosive aggressiveness from Swedish bands as ENTOMBED on its first album, "Left Hand Path".

The sound quality is alright for a Death Metal album in such way.

First of all, it's truly bitter and oppressive, with that raw feeling that their music needs, but the whole quality is on an excellent level, keeping it clear for our ears to understand what they are playing. But the recording keeps a modern outfit, what make their music come to life.

Their nasty and sometimes technical playing made the difference, along with this different way of singing using grunts.

I name as their finest moments "World War Zero" with its hooking tempos, excellent drumming and very good guitar riffs; the fusion of Old School aggressiveness with fine technique (especially from bass guitar) shown on "The Demon of Science"; the hypnotic riffs and excellent grunts on "Lake Rancid", the melodic outfit on some guitars parts on the gross technical work on "Dead Man's Desert", and the creative touch used on the rhythmic kitchen on "Lords of Primitiv" (sinuous and filled with very good rhythmic changes, and excellent melodies on guitar solos).

They are a very good name, and can show to some guys that you can be creative using an Old School style.
