Infernal Tenebra - As Nations Fall album cover

I told some time ago that countries from East Europe must have something interesting that happened on their lands. I say this due the number of excellent bands coming from Ukraine, Poland and others. Maybe the oppression and isolation that socialist/communist regime (that is already dead and gone, besides some sick idiots on this world want desperately to revive that distortion) forced them for many years had something with that, I can't guarantee this. And INFERNAL TENEBRA, from Croatia, is another excellent example of what I say. Hear their new album, "As Nation Fall", and get an idea of what I mean.

Their work is based on what some call Progressive Melodic Death Metal, or translating it clearly: it's a technical and melodic way to play on Death Metal, keeping the impact and aggressiveness of the style. That are simple words to describe what these guys are doing, but to be honest, it's a bit more that these labels that many love to create and use than we could say. But only the listening of their energetic and thunderous music can make justice, so do it.

Darko Etinger produced the album, having the hands of Jens Bogren on the mixing and mastering. And the final result is something that sounds heavy, aggressive and melodic, with very good balance between these aspects, in a way that the musical work of INFERNAL TENEBRA's music can be clearly understood. And the work from the Brazilian artist Gustavo Sazes for the cover art and design is something really excellent.
Melodic and brutal, catching and bitter, these guys really know what they want to get from their music. And the result is an album with nine excellent songs. But for jealous fans, you can start with the melodically and harsh ones "The Seventh Seal" (with some excellent guitars and rhythmical changes, from melodic moments to brutal ones) and "Catharsis" (excellent guitar solos, but what the rhythmic kitchen is doing is something really great), passing by the brutally technical "As Nations Fall" (fine melodic guitar inserts with great keyboards and fine harsh vocals), the thundering harsh impact of "Legally Insane" (what wonderful guitars, with melodic solos and all, but bass guitar and drums are really excellent on the introspective and dense passages), the nasty and a bit introspective "The End Justifies the Means" (some excellent slow parts create a deep and dense atmosphere on this song, a perfect one for these harsh and slow tempos), and the brutal work heard on "Black Sun" (with some melodies on guitars, fine bass and drums work, and excellent vocals).

Their work is really excellent, so I recommend you all to hear them with attention.<
