Boys and girls, this album is really addicting!
SCREAMING EAGLES is a Rock-n-Roll/Hard Rock that comes from Ireland, and the band is releasing their new album, the addiction called "Stand Up And Be Counted". Their musical style sounds like that vein of Hard Rock/Rock-n-Roll from the 70s, but these guys stay away from that sound done on that epoch. What I'm trying to say: their music is not moldy and has no intention to sound as a band from 40 years ago, searching for a dead kind of sound quality. No, the quartet music pulses with life and energy, and the organic feeling we have is a feature from the music, not from the recording. A very wise and good thing to do, because they are really good and hooking, reminding a bit bands like AC/DC, SOUNGARDEN and MONSTER MAGNET sometimes.
The sound quality is truly fine. You have that essential dirtiness that their music needs to sound very good, but is clean and abrasive as a Rock-n-Roll band must sound. But don't wait for something heavy, because they aren't a Heavy Metal band at all. This album is a case of "put it on CD player and let it roll", because their music is so good that doesn't needs any better songs to be pointed. But if you really need this, you can bet on "Ready For The Fall" (a nasty, hooking and savage song, having excellent guitars and great vocals), the "truck down the street" called "Stand Up And Be Counted" (another fine song, hooking chorus and good work done by bass guitar and drums), the excellent "Get Out While I'm Ahead" (a good and great influence from Boogie and Blues is presented in the middle of a hooking and savage song, with great melodies), and the nasty Rock-n-Roll song "Streets of Gold".
It's an album to hear and get addicted!
