Gesundrian
Diocletian
The New Zealand based quartet DIOCLETIAN is back to the attack, and on this year that they celebrate ten years of existence, they release "Gesundrian", their new album.
They play a violent, raw and extreme way of Death/Black Metal, but with some good technique on instruments (specially the drums), seeming like ancients as ANGELCORPSE sometimes, and their work is good and thunderous, with great vocals (in the same vein of Pete Helmkamp), extreme guitar riffs and sickening solos, and a fast and very heavy rhythmic mass. So, prepare to hear your neighbors complain!
The sound is extremely raw and nasty, but it's not as bad as some can think. Of course the sound quality went down by the tube, but the band's music is better this way, dirty and nasty.
Their highlights: the bitter and slow "Cleaver Asunder" (almost a war call, with great riffs), the abrasive "Summoning Fear" (these extreme riffs are fantastic, as the vocals are at their finest), the violent "Steel Jaws", and "Beast Atop the Trapezoid" (bass and drums really are fine here).
Yes, they deserve better conditions, and to reach as many extreme Metal fans as they can!
