Too Fast To Die
Archspire

From the EPK: Since 2009, ARCHSPIRE has aimed to be one thing above all else: extreme. With their upcoming release "Too Fast To Die", they've once again raised the bar for what extreme music can be. Well, they haven't lied, that is true. I have to admit that this is my first time with ARCHSPIRE, so I can't tell you if the following information on the EPK is accurate or not. In 2025 ARCHSPIRE announced their new drummer, Spencer Moore, marking a shift in the band's trajectory. New blood brings new influences. "I had to step my game up fast to pull off the new material", Spencer explains. "But once we started tracking, everything felt comfortable and natural."
I therefore am expecting quite the explosion by the band that claims to be the fastest in the world. Well, that description is up for debate, but "Too Fast To Die" is by far the fastest sounding album I have ever had the pleasure listening to, let alone review. The musical genre that is being raced out of my speakers is Technical Death Metal, but with enough well placed Melodic bits and pieces being used in in order to prevent this becoming a one horse race. What that has done is add depth, plus it shows variation and breathes diversity. Which makes this really intense and uber fast musical journey one that is quite easy to listen to. But not for all of us, only for those who are either very experienced in listening to every sort of Metal, or for those who are very adventurous in their musical discovery.
And no, this doesn't border on or has any association with Grindcore or any subsidiary of that genre. ARCHSPIRE plays pure Technical Death Metal that just goes a lot faster than you are used to. The title is quite apt, because what I am hearing on "Too Fast To Die" has the right combination between being as Heavy and intense as possible, whilst simultaneously maintain a bit of Melodic undertones to make the whole experience just that bit easier to digest. If you're not known with ARCHSPIRE yet, the songs themselves will take some adjusting to in your ears as well as your brains, but if you're like me, you will adapt accordingly and be able to respect what the band is bringing on "Too Fast To Die". It might not be the be all to end all, but you will be able to accept, enjoy and appreciate what is on offer here. And that is exactly where I stand.
