Tyrona

After the brothers Sławek and Wojtek Wiesławski at Hertz Studios (at Białystok, Poland) made works for acts as VADER, HATE, BEHEMOTH and others, new possibilities arose for Death Metal and Death/Black Metal, because that brutal and impacting sonorities became a usual model for both genres. At the same time, some new features for the genres were created as well, and can be heard on many bands from these Metal genres - and on other as well. And the quartet NO RAZA, from Colombia - now based on Florida - depicts some of these elements on “Tyrona”.
The sonority, as said above, the band uses a model usual for the Death Metal and Death/Black Metal that worked on Hertz studios: aggressive, brutal, oppressive and with a full-force impact on the ears; on the other hand, it sounds understandable, enabling the fans to understand what’s being played without problems. The musical work of the band is an abrasive and impacting form of Death Metal that’s usual for bands of the genre on the past 20 years (besides some Old School Death Metal elements can be detected in some moments, as on “Imperial Holocaust”), with very good technical level (especially in terms of guitars arrangements), and the most important of all: a personality pulses on their songs. The album sounds mature, aggressive and full of energy, with a band that knows what’s doing and what wants from its music.
Bone-crushing rhythms creates by bass guitar and drums, sharp and oppressive guitar riffing with fine arrangements and very good solos (with a very good melodic sense), and howling death growls forms the layers of the songs, offering the fans a different - and great - experience when dealing with “Looters”, “Imperial Holocaust”, “Savage Strength”, “Overflowed”, “Estable Corrupción”, “Chiefdom”, “Outbreak”, “Afterlife”, “Involución” and “Tyrona”. But they can be surprising as well, and a fine example of it is the band’s version for “Ring of Gold”, a song of BATHORY’s “Nordland”, here presented on a Death Metal format.
NO RAZA is really fulfilling many expectations with “Tyrona”; but it seems that the quartet still holds its best work for the future (for those who experience this release, it’ll be something astonishing).
