Textures - Silhouettes album cover

I discovered this band by mistake some years ago, when I came across Stef Broks's homepage, but the fact is that I don't even remember how I found his homepage, since I didn't even know this drummer at that time. Anyway, I started searching for this band and realized that TEXTURES is an ass kicking Metal outfit with unique sound and the potential to climb high into the 21st century's Metal pantheon.

The band hails from the Netherlands, and has been formed in 2001. Its members also play in bands like SENGAIA, BRUTUS, and EXIVIOUS. TEXTURES have already released two incredible albums that I personally adore, and the time has come for them to prove that what they have achieved up to now is the result of their talent and the hard work they have done. Silhouettes will be released in late April through the French label Listenable Records, and I am sure that many people will be amazed with these guys.

Having shared the stage with acts like THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, MESHUGGAH, MACHINE HEAD and CULT OF LUNA, these guys are surely experienced musicians that have the whole package to do something great. In my humble opinion, the Dutch metallers are one of the best bands the modern extreme Metal scene has nowadays. Drawing elements from the above mentioned bands, they have crafted their own, unique sound, using their Progressive Death/Thrash Metal basic ingredient with modern Mathcore meets Metalcore fragments to make the whole thing spicier.

This is one of the few times I agree with something that is written on the promo CD I receive. Just as I read, Polars shook the entire underground scene as a killer debut, Drawing Circles opened the doors & put the band in a bigger league, now it's time to conquer all with Silhouettes. This is the sound of modern Metal, don't be left behind! I believe that these few words say it all. A killer album with a killer production that places the band where it belongs, in the front of the 21st century's war for the modern Metal throne. The Dutch metallers prove that they can claim this position with their talent, technique and their incredible compositions. I think that you have to trust them and see for yourselves what these guys can do.
