Blackbriar – A Thousand Little Deaths
October 27, 2025
“A Thousand Little Deaths” sees BLACKBRIAR maintaining a steady course. Their production values continue to improve, their songwriting and execution are consistent and strong, and Zora’s vocals remain amongst the best.

Eisregen - Krebskolonie (Reissue)
October 25, 2025
EISREGEN could, would and should have benefitted from an even better and more explosive sound, especially for a reissue. Now it’s just a bit too tame, almost like it has been dulled by too many blows.

Nihili Locus – Nihil Morte Certium
October 19, 2025
“Nihil Morte Certium” has been 24 years in the making. It documents the trajectory of NIHILI LOCUS as well as the eras of extreme metal which they were not only a part of but helped to shape.

Aganoor – Doomerism
August 17, 2025
It's hard to believe this is the first album from AGANOOR—they sound like seasoned veterans of the forever metal psychic wars.

The Medea Project - Kharon
July 16, 2025
Musically THE MEDEA PROJECT do just what I was expecting, which is mixing the Doom Metal elements with Sludge Metal parts and then dribbling their Gothic Metal gravy over all of it. And that does give me some very interesting songs and soundscapes that take just under 40 minutes on “Kharon”.
review
GaiaBeta - Gate Of GaiaBeta
June 3, 2025
Let me start by saying that what you will hear has been done before by many other bands, and GAIABETA has just decided to give the music their own twist. What does help with the musical genre they are playing is having a good and crystal clear sound. In that respect I simply cannot fault anything on “Gate Of GaiaBeta”.

Tribunal – In Penitence and Ruin
June 2, 2025
TRIBUNAL’s “In Penitence and Ruin” is so good that I’m going to have to spend my own money to buy their first album, “The Weight of Remembrance,” which kind of pisses me off because free music is half the reason I got into this review writing gig.
review
Blax - Certesia
May 4, 2025
“Certesia” makes for an interesting listen that’s likely to appeal to Theatrical Metal fans more than Goth Metal.
review
Belle Morte – Pearl Hunting
February 23, 2025
“Pearl Hunting” is eleven tracks of well-balanced Symph—sometimes haunting, sometimes visceral—which will make you feel classy, the way that Symph always does, and inherently evil, the way true metal should.
review
Plague of Stars - Extinction
February 23, 2025
WormHoleDeath has a knack for finding unsigned exceptional talent skulking around in the metalsphere and PLAGUE OF STARS is another one of them. “Extinction” is an excellent find for extreme metal fans who have a liking for dark Symph.

Lacuna Coil – Sleepless Empire
February 2, 2025
Commemorating the day of love, LACUNA COIL releases their 11th full-length studio album, Sleepless Empire, on February 14, 2025. It’s filled with anger and rage and is all about fucked up relationships and alienation.

Fourth Dominion - Diana's Day
September 17, 2024
"Diana’s Day"
by
”FOURTH DOMINION”
is a captivating Gothic Metal album enriched with post-punk and darkwave influences. From the energetic opener
"Bloodstains"
, to the mythologically infused
"Lilim"
, the album expertly balances brooding atmospheres with sharp, punk-driven energy. Standout tracks like
"Goetia"
weave esoteric themes into haunting melodies, while
”Tormenta Purgatoria"
sounds with acoustic elegance, blending gothic melancholy with melodic intensity. Impeccably produced and richly composed, this album is a must-listen for fans of gothic metal, offering a deeply immersive and haunting musical journey.

Drift Into Black - Voices Beneath The Rubble
June 28, 2024
All in all, DRIFT INTO BLACK have outdone themselves with “Voices Beneath The Rubble.” With every album, I feel they are getting closer and closer to releasing a masterpiece. This album has brought them to the edge and I can’t wait to take the plunge with them.

The Vision Bleak – Weird Tales
April 8, 2024
From the album cover to the first video (“Chapter II: In Rue d'Auseil”) to each immersive track, the album pulls you in like a Hammer House of Horror film.
