Schreigarm – Mara Comes and Darkness Shall Reign
September 29, 2025
There are parts of “Mara Comes and Darkness Shall Reign” that positively terrify me, and other parts that just soothe the hell out of me (no pun intended).

"It's apocalyptic, because sometimes that's exactly what it takes." - Jacob Curwen, All Hell

All Hell has been described as a Blackened Thrash band, but they are much more. On October 10, 2025, the trio for Ashville, North Carolina release their fifth full-length album, "Sunsetter," via Terminus Hate City. Vicious Blackened Thrash out the Blue Ridge Mountains. Intertwines Thrash, Death, and Black with lethal intent. A must for extreme metal fans.

Vintersorg - Vattenkrafternas Spel
September 5, 2025
What Vintersorg always had a good knack for is writing good songs that really fit what he is trying to say. And I can tell you that on “Vattenkrafternas Spel” he has been able to do that once again, giving VINERSORG another strong piece of slab with which they hopefully be able to conquer even more souls than they have until now.
review
Jord – Emellan Träden
September 2, 2025
With “Emellan Träden,” JORD maintains the momentum and trajectory they established with their 2023 “Tundra.” This might be their best to date.

review
Sadistic Goatmessiah - Violence
August 11, 2025
Highly enjoyable this one. The band name and the album cover pretty much say it all. This is unadulterated raw, fundamental Black and Thrash the way that Satan meant it to be.
review
Ancient Torment - Follow the Echo of Curses
August 6, 2025
A very good first coming from this North American Black Metal band.

Loathfinder - Broken Branches and Torn Roots
July 24, 2025
If you need references of what means Doom Black Metal or Blackened Doom Metal or any other label you can think of on this genre, this very good release is enough.
review
Hexella - The Ancient Gaping Mouth
July 24, 2025
Black Metal + D-beat elements = Black 'n' Roll, and this quartet balances this equation in a great way.
review
Margantha – Blood Moon Sacrifice

MARGANTHA, Black Metal trio from Finland and Italy, mix two of my favorite things with their debut EP, “Blood Moon Sacrifice”—Black Metal and horror.
review

July 16, 2025

review
Waxen - High Plains Bloodlust
June 18, 2025
I have to conclude that as far as I’m concerned, I really can’t fault WAXEN at all musically, and I think that “High Plains Bloodlust” will appeal to a lot of other musicians alike. It will also be something for those who like their Black Metal not to be too extreme, as you will get the Heavy Metal and Melodic vibes radiating from some of the guitar parts.

Rickert G. - Endless Thoughts
June 3, 2025
The songs on “Endless Thoughts” have body, soul and feelings galore, and the way that RICKERT G. has put his compositions together makes a whole lot of sense. It makes for almost 42 minutes of very divers and exciting Metal.
review
Helheim – Blod & Ild
June 2, 2025
"Blod & Ild" got a lot of attention when it first came out, and deservedly so. Whether you somehow get hold of the vinyl before it’s gone or you just download the digital like the rest of mortals, it’s still a hell of an album.

Solfatare – Asservis par l’espoir
May 26, 2025
Hope is an illusion that enslaves us to small-minded ideas and conspires to charm us into our own damnation. Got it. Check. Also, “Asservis par l’espoir” is fucking savage. So, yay despair.
