Whispering Void – At The Sound Of The Heart
October 5, 2024
WHISPERING VOID specializes in Folk-infused, Atmospheric sound—folk in the same way that Folk Horror is folk. We’re talking melodically Atmospheric and slightly sinister with soaring vocals underpinned by traditional instruments—e.g. bones and hides of once living animals plus acoustic flourishes of violins, cellos, etc.

Sepulchre by the Sea - Seven Chambers
September 30, 2024
While “
Seven Chambers
,” certainly isn’t a bad album, it is one that I just couldn’t find a firm grasp to hold on to. There is plenty of talent here and someone else may enjoy it far more than me. I look forward to their next album, despite my misgivings on this one.

Officium Triste - Hortus Venenum
September 2, 2024
OFFICIUM TRISTE
’s “
Hortus Venenum
” is an engaging example of the doom genre’s capacity for highly emotional charged music. It’s as beautiful as it is tragic, as sweltering as it is radiant. Most importantly, it is an album with a lot of care of and detail put into it from a band who shows a clear love for their craft.

Al-Namrood - Al Aqrab
August 19, 2024
All in all,
AL-NAMROOD
’s “
Al Aqrab
” is something different from most of what I’ve jammed this year and it was a welcomed, and enjoyable, change of scenery for me.

Eremit - Rise of the Ruan~angh
July 19, 2024
I can’t think of a better piece of music to bridge the gap between their much awaited fourth full-length album. Quite simply, “
Rise of the Ruan~angh
” continues to add to the band’s growing legend and solidifies their place in the pantheon of modern doom.

BLAZING ETERNITY - A Certain End of Everything

Blazing Eternity’s “A Certain End Of Everything,” is a near perfect album that represents everything a fan of this style doom could want.

Oubliette - Eternity Whispers
June 9, 2024
This album is every bit as engaging and commanding as their other music. This one will definitely be around for years to come!

Pallbearer - Mind Burns Alive
May 20, 2024
All in all, PALLBEARER’s “Mind Burns Alive,” is an highly emotional AND impressive tour de force. It’s intense in a lot of different ways and I enjoyed my time with it. With that being said, I can understand why some fans aren’t going to like it. Give this one a chance and let it really sink in. “Mind Burns Alive,” deserves your time and patience.

Walk Through Fire - Till Aska
May 13, 2024
It isn’t an album where you are going to find these standout moments that will call for the rewind button to play over and over. It’s better than that, the depth and layered substance is something that works best from start to finish, or at least a song or two at once. This isn’t an album about picking and choosing what works best: everything comes together for an incredible experience.

Vorga - Beyond The Palest Star
February 19, 2024
With “Beyond The Palest Star,” VORGA have successfully managed to create an album that more focused on the heavier, extreme aspects of their sound yet managed to still expand upon their imaginative, atmo side.

Sepulchral Curse - Abhorrent Dimensions
November 16, 2023
One of the best death metal albums I’ve heard in the second half the year and an absolute banger of an album.
