Deathraw - Reduced to Ashes
April 19, 2026
When I start listening to what DEATHRAW is giving me on “Reduced to Ashes” it is very obvious that they chosen to stick to Bay Area Thrash Metal musically.

Survivalist - A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone
April 14, 2026
As I had never heard of SURVIVALIST before now, I was able to go in with a clear conscience, a blank mind and expecting ears. What I got with “A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone” is a whole bunch of noises that sound good.

Kolm – Yūgen
April 14, 2026
This was an outstanding album. They flawlessly combine Progressive elements with other seasonings in their recipe, while holding back just enough mystery to keep the listener engaged. The vocals are so easy on the ears, and the music is definitely heavy enough for Metal fans, although I appreciate the uncharacteristic nuances. This was just so entrancing and fun to listen to.

Junon – The Golden Citadel of the Astral Sphere
April 12, 2026
Overall, the album was akin to the descent of values and morals that began to drop with each step you took forward down to the pit of the abyss. It maintained two things throughout: a undeniable tension that was woven into reach song, and the harrowing feeling of death that was reflected by the hairs standing up on the back of your neck while you listened.

Persecutor - Casualties of Violence
April 10, 2026
PERSECUTOR had me roped in easily from second 37 of “Born in Blood”, as the EXODUS riff that really starts off the song is beautiful. And that is exactly where you need to look for the Thrash Metal of PERSECUTOR; the Bay Area.

Onchocerciasis Esophagogastroduodenoscopy - Fugue Gnawed From the Scabbed God Cerebrum
April 7, 2026
Y'know, I'm getting real tired of the constant juxtaposition of cutesy-wootsey anime girls and straight-up gore.

Hoaxed – Death Knocks
March 30, 2026
“Death Knocks” is a beautiful, delicate flower in the full bloom of early spring, defying the cold air and nearly frozen ground, and you don’t have to dig for the melancholy, catchy music. It feels like a journey to me, where you leave the present behind and visit…the past, or the future? In the past, you are reminded that you can’t change things. In the future, you might glimpse at where your choices will lead. Either way, it’s a sobering experience that gets under your skin and takes up residence, making sure you never forget it.

Exodus – Goliath
March 28, 2026
“Goliath” is not restricted to classical Thrash Metal; it includes different genre elements and vibes. At the heart of the album is the EXODUS guitar engine and both, Gary Holt and Lee Altus, deliver excellence.
review
Evildead - Annihilation Of Civilization (Reissue)
March 22, 2026
The music on “Annihilation Of Civilization” is quite good, the production is as it was expected to be for a band in this music genre, the cover is brilliant. The band was clearly a bunch of very talented musicians with a singer that was very definitely making the right kind of statements for the time this was first released. (Unfortunately a lot of the matters described are again or still valid and important in this day and age.)

Aether – Verfallsschemen
March 4, 2026
“A lamenting monolith of ashes and despair” is too soft of a phrase to describe the torturous pit that the album with throw you into head first, and there is no bottom. You will fall screaming, not just for minutes or hours, but for eternity. There is no light, no hope, no absolution, and no chance for rescue.

3 Headed Snake – Catharsis (single)
February 20, 2026
Musically you can classify 3 HEADED SNAKE as following; take the ultimate power that a band like MALICE always portrayed, the compelling nature that JUDAS PRIEST is capable of and combine it with the vocal qualities that QUEENSRŸCHE is well known for.
review
Carrion Vael – Slay Utterly
February 12, 2026
Their talent is undeniable, and their fever…off the charts. They weave orchestral and even classical sounds into the album, which is punishing Death Metal. It’s a sophisticated and classy kick to your mouth.

Besta - John Carpenter (Redux)

Balistic – The Parson’s Tale
January 22, 2026
I always appreciate a good Progressive music album set to a theme. The spoken words helped to keep the story on track, and the music shifted from dark to spots of light at times, although in keeping with the theme, it was mostly done in the shadows. The band’s musicianship was strong, and I would like to hear more from them.

Sodality – Benediction Part 2
January 21, 2026
Overall, this wasn’t a bad album by any stretch…it had an evil and harrowing sound. It just didn’t bring anything new to the genre.

Zero Tolerance – A Test Of Strength
January 18, 2026
“A Test Of Strength” is not the classical fast and aggressive Thrash Metal, it is mainly a mid-tempo album with many twists and breaks in rhythm. It is technically faultless, but it lacks excitement, spark, and something extra

Zero Tolerance - A Test Of Strength
December 18, 2025
A Test Of Strength” is a solid, decent but also extremely entertaining album. I doubt that ZERO TOLERANCE will achieve world dominance with this album but I am sure that they are going to gain a lot of praise from a lot of Thrash and Heavy Metal fans.

The Skelters - Con Man's Chronicles
December 12, 2025
This is Hard Rock at best, but it is the variety that will transport you back to the seventies in sound as well as atmosphere and feel. That can be a good thing nowadays, as it gives the whole listening experience a much more analogue and therefore honest approach. In that respect THE SKELTERS got everything just right.
review
Sterbhaus - Next Akin To Chaos
December 12, 2025
Musically you can place STERBHAUS as a Thrash/Death Metal band, and that is as accurate as you can get. And if you ask me, for a trio they are able to make a lot of sensible noise, as that is what has impressed me most about “Next Akin To Chaos”.

Ring Van Möbius – Firebrand
November 30, 2025
I can tell you that if you aren’t giving your full attention to the music that is being played, you are in danger of finding it long, winding, very expansive and even boring from time to time. Whilst when you do listen carefully, preferably with your headphones on and your eyes closed, you will be transported into a world of beautiful surroundings and atmospheric soundscapes.

“We didn't have examples; we didn't have any references to follow.” - Monika Chrościelewska, CZART
November 20, 2025
CZART is an experimental metal band hailing from Poland. The concept behind their debut album, “Czarty Polskie,” has been controversial not only for the AI debate but for the many references to Polish demonology. On All Hallows Eve, Gary Hernandez, writer and editor for Metal Temple, caught up with members of CZART to discuss everything from AI to the reasons why metal resonates so much in Poland to whether we are living in the best of times or the worst. Most importantly, they discuss the beloved CZART goat.
review
Cemetery Moon – Dominion of Ashes
November 19, 2025
Although the band’s attention to the ferocity of Black Metal is noteworthy, many of the songs on the album blurred together too much. They have talent, and the cover art is excellent, but they need to work in more variation into the album, and perhaps take advantage of the wide genre boundaries these days.
review
Empire Drowns – Endless Nights
November 17, 2025
Overall, the album has great balance…each instrument like the keys, guitars, bass, vocals, and drums work together in a synergy that is hard to find. This was a terrific album, expertly combining the genres of Doom, Death, and Melo-Death together to create a sound of anguish, pain, even terror at times, but all done with a melodic touch.
