Jan Leščanec & Grega Stalowsky - (SkyEye)
July 31, 2021
It takes the right timing, the opportunity, a little bit of lack but a whole lot of ability, in order to cross a threshold into the next level. The competition within the Metal market has always been extensive, so many bands, so many wishing to taste what a musical career feels like, even on a smaller scale. In a way, the Slovenian Heavy Metal band, SkyEye, had the same story with their last year's appearance as part of the European Festival Alliance, which also included their local Metaldays Festival. That performance led to their next stage in development, which continued with a new album, "Soldiers Of Light", and a record deal. Steinmetal had to find out more about the new starlet, its new release and more.

interview
Mårten Hansen - (This Ending)
July 26, 2021
Egoism might get one killed, as if this phrase matches the curiosity that killed the cat. Actually, it is not the same, as the former is the harsher reality and could eventually lead into a gloomier future that mankind might never come back from. It starts with the people, the ones that aren't willing to let go of their own interests. And when these folks have the power, it might mean doom for the surrounding rest. The coming back to action band, This Ending, made it clear that the danger is evident, it is there to consume us if measures wouldn't be taken into the account. With the release of "Needles Of Rust", Steinmetal had a good talk with Mårten Hansen, as the latter told the story of the album, his own vision of society and his inspirations.

interview
Markus Berger - (Trance)
July 13, 2021
It would appear that something was of a miss, apparently the magic of old, for some people, was virtually lost in translation, lost in a phase in time, probably never to return. There have been those who set it as a purpose to recreate the old vibes, yet haven't touched the rainbow. There are the veterans of course that wish to pursue the old days of their youth, some of them made it happen. Trance, a rather important name in the German Metal scene, returned a few years ago, and now, with a nearly brand new lineup, are back with "Metal Forces", simply put old school frenzy. Steinmetal had a talk with Markus Berger, the band's founder, on the new record, the old spirit and more…

Per Kolderup Finstad - (Burning Darkness)
July 4, 2021
Death has been under the crosshairs of Metal music ever since its proud inception decades ago, however, it sounded perhaps less sinister than the extreme versions that exist nowadays. Nonetheless, to dwell on it and understand it, that is quite the experience. Holding a torch for the power of Death, there is the Swedish Black Metal band, Burning Darkness, releasing their new album, "Dödens Makt". With a slight change of direction and overall aura, Steinmetal talked to the vocalist, Per Kolderup Finstad, about his perspective of the new album and more…
interview
Patrick Mameli - (Pestilence)
July 1, 2021
Quite frankly it is a scary world out there, not because of how it is now, but because of the potential of what it might become. Think about it, imagine several versions of dystopia and bam, you are there, you could be there. These thoughts can consume a person, and might evidently cause a person to lose touch with reality. Therefore, to act in ways in order to be the better person, might do the trick, and the ways are countless. Pestilence's Patrick Mameli is rather bothered of what has been going on, and the pandemic pretty much helped it. In light of the new record, "Exitivm", it feels like dancing in a minefield. Steinmetal had to find out more and Mameli was a fountain of information and of course also about the music.
