Ernte - Der schwarzen Flamme Vermächtnis
January 6, 2026
ERNTE gives us an altar full of second-wave Black Metal with “Der schwarzen Flamme Vermächtnis,” reminding us that the old traditions are sometimes the best, especially the dark ones.

Spriggan Mist - The Glare
January 5, 2026
According to the information sheet that comes with the music SPRIGGAN MIST is a band from Bracknell in the UK that plays Progressive Rock/Folk. If you then open the homepage of the band, you will see that they categorise themselves as a Pagan Folk Rock band. Well, let me put your mind at ease, they are both right.

Jim Peterik & World Stage - River Of Music: The Power Of Duets - Vol. 1
January 5, 2026
What JIM PETERIK has done right is couple the right singer to his person, making all the songs sound nice from start to finish. And as usual in these genres, the musicians all have that quality that makes sure that the instrumental side of things is above reproach, that it can’t be faulted.

The Last Sound Revelation – The Proximity Effect
December 31, 2025
When you create instrumental music, you have to work harder because vocals and lyrics aren’t there to guide you as a listener. The album title refers to is a phenomenon where directional microphones significantly boost low-frequency (bass) sounds as they get closer to the sound source, making voices sound bigger or fuller, and that’s what you will find on the album.
review
HamaSaari – Pictures
December 31, 2025
In sum, I found the album was inviting, like a stranger offering you a soft bed to rest on and the comfort of an oversized blanket. Tentative at first, you shuffle in from the rain and relax with a hot drink, exchanging pleasantries with them until you drift off to a restful sleep.

December 31, 2025
A guilty pleasure, if you will.

Ptolemea – Kali
December 30, 2025
What I have hear with “Kali” is the second album of this Alternative Rock band, the debut being “Balanced Darkness” from 2023. I haven’t heard that one, but I have a feeling that is about to change, as to me what PTOLEMEA brings on “Kali” is nothing less than interesting, and at times even bloody good.

Urban Dream - Human Eclipse
December 30, 2025
What URBAN DREAM does is make it very hard for a promotor to do their job properly, as how do you market a band that intertwines Industrial Metal, Gothic Rock, Alternative and Pop-Rock influences into everything they do.

Svntarer – Exitus Triumphalis
December 26, 2025
Some paths we don’t choose in life we find ourselves walking down, nonetheless. These frigid, black trails are representative of the bleaker side of life. Whether what you feel is anger, despair, or horror, these feelings are alive in you, and you can use them to motivate you through dark times, or succumb to the darkness. That is the takeaway I have from the album.
review
Heimland – Der Torv Moeter Hav
December 25, 2025
This wasn’t a bad album per se, and the meaty bass notes were one of its best features. Unfortunately, it just sounded too much like FWOBM inspired music for me, and it wasn’t diverse enough to really get off the ground.
review
Runemagick – Cycle of the Dying Sun (Dawn of Ashen Realms)
December 24, 2025
Overall, this wasn’t a bad album by any stretch, it just didn’t challenge me much as a listener. Many of the songs had a similar sound and the slow pace didn’t combine well with the somewhat bland riffs.

Draculum – Poems of Spellcraft
December 22, 2025
Each of the six tracks is a bit of mystery, beckoning the listener to unravel them. Signposted by year, the titles hint at a possible unified narrative if not by characters than at least by theme.

Katakomba – The Second Death
December 22, 2025
“The Second Death” delivers traditional Swedish Death Metal sound with modern elements. The album has pace, rawness, aggression, devastating chainsaw guitars, and a blood-freezing melodic framework

Kaatayra – Só Quem Viu o Relâmpago à Sua Direita Sabe
December 19, 2025
After two listens, I am still not entirely sure what I think about the album. The band leaves the door open for mystery, and even your own imagination. Harsh vocals contrast with traditional Brazilian folk music in a way that just keeps you on your toes throughout the experience, and if nothing else, its mysteries are buried deep within.

Mors Verum – Canvas
December 17, 2025
When I hear the term Death Metal, I get images of rotting flesh, destruction and death, and even guttural noise. But here, the music was alive…moving, breathing, never standing still. It’s ardent enough for the common fan, but also offers a kaleidoscope of other sounds for those of us looking for something different.
review
Sanctvs – De l'Abîme au Plérôme
December 16, 2025
Overall, this was a solid album to listen to. It didn’t necessarily offer anything new to the genre, but you can hear the fire and the passion behind the compositions, as well as the artist’s skills.

Forever Autumn – The Lamentations
December 16, 2025
“The Lamentations” is Autumn Ni Dubhghaill’s most stirring release to date, and not just in the emotional or sentimental sense but in a raw and visceral sense as well.
review
Moon Wisdom – Let Water Flow
December 15, 2025
Overall, this was a decent listening experience, but I just didn’t get a firm enough handle on their sound through 30 minutes of runtime. I also didn’t hear much in the way of Punk or even Gaze sounds. Had they not mentioned that, I probably wouldn’t be as disappointed as I am.

Blossoms Fall - La Alma
December 15, 2025
It is all just too neat, too controlled. I never get the feeling that the band is throwing everything they have at me, that they are holding back for future references and/or releases. If they are, that’s their bad, because that means that they are forgetting that you can only make a good first impression once.

Paganizer - As Mankind Rots
December 15, 2025
Because there is no two ways about it; every song that PAGANIZER plays on “As Mankind Rots” hits the spot just right. In just under 40 minutes time the band has made sure that the songs they write have that underlying tension that comers with the territory, whilst also allowing the listener to adapt to every tune with a great deal of ease.

Master’s Hammer – Maldorör Disco
December 12, 2025
This was an excellent listening experience for me. As a teenager in the 80’s, its lush electronic sound took me back to some of the music I enjoyed at that time, and keyboards are always a welcomed instrument for me. Here, you will find plenty, combined with gritty riffs and vocals, and the songs were downright catchy.

The Skelters - Con Man's Chronicles
December 12, 2025
This is Hard Rock at best, but it is the variety that will transport you back to the seventies in sound as well as atmosphere and feel. That can be a good thing nowadays, as it gives the whole listening experience a much more analogue and therefore honest approach. In that respect THE SKELTERS got everything just right.
