Out Of The Dark
The Watcher
This is NWOBHM based, Doom inspired Heavy Metal with enough oomph to keep your mind occupied and working for over 36 minutes.
Beyond Subconscious Realms
Shrykull
Shrykull – Beyond Subconscious Realms
Desecration of the Archangels
Crucifixion Ritual
Four songs that sound very similar to one another don’t male for a very good listening experience. I get the message, and it is noteworthy, but the music doesn’t deliver much.
Graveside
Old Forest
The album’s strength lies both in its diversity and traditionalism. Its roots go deep in the Black Metal genre, but they are also not afraid to explore, and use some unconventional approaches to songwriting. For a band that has been around since before the turn of the century, I find their music to be fresh, and vital.
Hypocrisy
Misscore
Alt Rock tinged in industrial to bring you a darker sound
Darkanakrad
Suidakra
SUIDAKRA’s “Darkanakrad,” is yet another fantastic album from a band that has been around a long time but, thankfully, shows know sign of slowing down. It has all the hallmarks of a well written album that flows nicely from beginning to end.
Sunraven
Grand Magus
“
Sunraven
,” further proves that
GRAND
MAGUS
is one of those bands that will give you what you see. And there isn’t a thing wrong with that. I wish more bands were as consistently badass as
GRAND MAGUS
. If you’re a fan of the band, “
Sunraven
,” will please you and then some but if you lost track of them for whatever reason, this will definitely pull you back in.

Big Muff Parade
Smart arrangements, fucktons of fuzz groove, and even a splash of Prog sophistication. Gotta love this band, gotta love this album.
Warpstormer
Warpstormer
While the cover, and even their monicker, suggest a fuzzed-out Stoner trip, what we get is a ripping Thrash attack underpinned with the down-tuned sensibilities of Doom. Think THE SWORD gone Thrash.

The Moirai
Carved Memories
The Moirai” is an eight-chapter journey of darkness, melancholy, epic melodies at times, and hammering symphonic Death Metal sound throughout
Relentless Force
Vicious Blade
VICIOUS BLADE kick ass with their relentless and aggressive Thrash Metal attack
Supernatural
Lionville
This was clearly a hit. “Alexander” has an excellent voice, and this album is a collection of songs that will ignite nostalgia in the listener. They also manage to create a lot of hooks that don’t sound like ones that have been done before. Let it sweep you back to a simpler and more melodic past.

Embers
Kildonan
This was an album with potential, and you can easily connect with the themes mentioned above. It was Black Metal really only in the sense of some of the backing vocal screams, and took on a more doomy quality for me.
La Saignée
Zero Absolu
This album is a masterwork in duality, contrasting love with loss and intertwining happiness with regret in a way that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant. It leaves you with a bittersweet aftertaste, a poignant reminder that love and loss, happiness and regret, are not opposites but inseparable parts of the same experience. It’s an album that lingers long after the music stops, inviting listeners to reflect on their own journeys and the emotions that make us human.
Múr

This is a very promising debut album, and they have almost reached the pinnacle already…but not quite. They do nearly everything right on the album except for varying the pacing of the songs. They set out with a boundless vision of where the music can take them, and don’t put any restraints on themselves, and that is a good starting point. But the crawling nature of the songs holds back the total advancement of the album. Still, this is a band to keep an eye on for sure.
Digital God
Stage Of Reality
Too much electronics on my Metal.
Muuntautuja
Oranssi Pazuzu
You first question should be, what do you call this music? Take a look at the album cover for your first clue. There are dark and twisted shades of black, grey, and white, and if you look at them from just the right angle, you can make out some distinct forms, or can you? It’s amorphous, just like the music. Part Black Metal, part Industrial and Psychedelic, part Experimental, and even part Progressive, but wholly original and unique, it expands the boundaries of music into bold and brave territory. It’s an obvious candidate for album of the year.
Envy The Dead
Misanthropia
WOW, what a great Melodic Black Metal release!
Einst
Einst
A fine first release of this Atmospheric Black Metal. If you like the genre, you must hear to it!
Hic Svnt Dracones
Dragony
A very good good Symphonic Power Metal release, even not trying to recreate the genre.
The Last Odyssey
Deaf Lizard
This is a very good Doom Metal/Hard Rock release, indeed...
House of Commando
Bird’s View
If you thought that Alternative Rock was dead, hear to this release and think again.
ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ
Patriarkh
This was an excellent album, and it combined the fierceness of Black Metal with a lot of melody, especially in the vocals. The chord structures were complex, and you can tell this is a veteran band, yet they melded these arrangements together in a way that made them accessible to the listener.
Sound Delivery
Sound Delivery
Fast delivery Hard Rock!
The Crescent King
Livlos
This was an easy album to relate to, as long as you are in the mood to break things, as well as an album where each member contributes evenly to. They have excellent musicianship, and their strength is probably in the synergy they have developed as a band, But, an area for improvement for me is to work on diversifying their sound a little more so that they stand out more in comparison with their peers.
By the Grace of Death
Canis Dirus
This was an unusual Black Metal album in that the band steered clear of convention and just made the album that they wanted to make. It is personal, and nuanced, even Progressive at times. It piqued my interest, and made me want to hear more from the band for sure.
The Beginning Of Sorrows
Decayed Existence
With over 30 years of experience Decayed Existence is bringing you the stench of death that is infused with the elements of groove undertones.
Thee Old Night
Thee Old Night
Although the sound was minimalistic, it was a fairly enjoyable listen, and I found it as close to described as possible. One thing that was notable, was the vibrato at the end of the singer’s notes, it was uncommon, but it worked well with the music and the subject matter.
Lakonic
Thyrathen
Unfortunately, despite some differences from many of their Black Metal peers who just slam down the gas for the entire album, much of the album was forgettable to me, and just a bit on the campy side. It wasn’t a bad album per se, it just failed to excite me.
Entrenched in Hell
Deadform
There are some odd elements on the album, and that is sometimes what you can when you cross different genres like the aforementioned four from the biography. It’s out of the box thinking, which I always appreciate, and it’s probably something that all Metalheads should hear at least once, to see what direction some bands takes genre mashups.
Broken And The Damned
Playhouse
One song promise.

Valley Of The Gods
Nitro Gods

Instinctual Disease
Entomophthora
I found this album exactly as advertised…a thick wall of Death Metal with modern elements. The duo are quite talented, and are able to shift through riff and meter changes without missing a beat. Any fan of Extreme Metal will find this to their liking, because it is uncompromising and relentless in its assault.
