We Rise (single)
Wings of Steel
A beautiful girl can give you a wink and a smile and get labeled a “tease”, well WINGS OF STEEL is that beautiful girl, and their “tease” is the release of the second song/video off their highly anticipated album. The big difference is that I never got a date with that beautiful girl, but I will get a date with the new album “Winds of Time” set for -self-release on October 15.
Deafening
Bloodride
Even though I like my Thrash Metal BLOODRIDE somehow has escaped my attention throughout all those years. Until now that is. And I can assure you that I am glad that this hiatus in my Thrash Metal history lesson has been rectified, because to make a long story short; I like “Deafening”.
Cold Air
Crime
CRIME isn’t hitting the dizzying heights of immortality, but they are certainly capable of playing good songs, recorded in just the right way.
Moving Target
Dragonsclaw
Don’t expect any new grounds to be discovered on “Moving Target”, but just expect DRAGONSCLAW to do their best to prove to you and me, the listeners, that Melodic Rock doesn’t have to sound jaded, bland or boring, but that it is possible to make it sound bloody exciting, invigorating and full of life.
Arrows At The Sun
White Mantis
The fact of the matter is that WHITE MANTIS has taken Teutonic Thrash Metal and injected new life into it on “Arrows At The Sun”.
Burning Embers, Forgotten Wolves
Autrest
This album was very carefully crafted, and the composer left no stones unturned. It pushed seemingly competing elements in equal doses, like the aggressiveness of Black Metal, catchy, solemn melodies, and a feeling of melancholy. In the end, they blended together with power, and with emotions that came alive.

Hiraeth
Sorrowfull Land
Overall, this was a dreadfully delicious album within the Doom/Death Metal genre that old fans will love, and delightful to new fans such as myself, and consider that it was all created by one person…just outstanding. The feeling of doom and death you get on the album sinks deep, and once it has taken hold, there is no going back to the life you had before. Poetic justice, maybe?
Hideously Traumatic
Symphobia
Symphobia hails from Indonesia; their music can be described as brutal death metal, with a […]
Believe
Zetra
As a writer, one of the more fulfilling parts of my job is watching a band’s evolution over time. This being their second album, they were firing on all cylinders until that final four-movement song, but let's get back to that. What I heard on this album was more of an open embracement of melodies and hooks. The core of their sound is still there…Gothic style keyboards mesh with vibrant melodies and while there are somber tones, they take a back seat to those great hooks. The final song is a bit of a mystery for me, and it leaves the album hanging, and the listener wanting more. This is a unique band that has an uncommon sound that is just so pleasing to me.
Amen
Igorrr
This album plays like the grand experiment of a mad scientist who has wired every song with unpredictable current. One moment it’s hammering you with chaotic riffs, the next it’s spiraling into strange atmospheric passages, and then it mutates again into some twisted electronic pulse. Two constants keep the chaos tethered. The first is an oppressive darkness that saturates everything, no matter how far the music strays stylistically. The second is the electronic element, which doesn’t just decorate the songs but electrifies them—like jolts to the nervous system. It’s a true testament to the idea that sometimes the most brilliant results come not from order, but from the carefully orchestrated chaos of a mind unafraid to embrace madness.
Instinctual Self-Slaughter
Apocalyptic Society
Overall, this wasn’t a bad album, and the band is talented, but unfortunately, talent will only take you so far in the genre. For me, this was much closer to Death Metal than anything else, and the Progressive elements were barely there. Too many of the songs sounded the same, and the band needs to take more chances in my opinion.
Melancholia
Ancient Thrones
Overall, this was indeed a contentious and brutal slab of metal that will roll right over you and crush your skull into dust. Just when you think the band has reached their limit of intensity, they take it up a notch to impossible heights. If you dare, travel to their world of “Melancholia.”
Knightclub
Feuerschwanz
If you want a fun release of Folk Metal, this one is for you!
Reforged - Machine World
Iron Savior
And on this third release of the “Reforged” series, the German Poer Metal kings show why they are so respected.
Dawn of a Malefic Dominion
Dehuman Reign
A very good Death Metal release, indeed.
Simulacre
Décryptal
A good first coming from this Canadian Death Metal band.
One More Shot
Day of the Jackal
Wow, this charming form of music defies lables, so hear to it and get hooked!
Codex Pestilentia
Crypt Monarch
A good mix between Stoner Metal and Doom Metal can be heard in this trio's music.
Nocturnal Blood Tyrants
Blutsauger
This is the right way for passing the torch of Black Metal from the past generations for the future ones.
Lizard Secrets: Part Three - Utopia
Airborn
This quartet is a proof that playing in the old Power Metal can be a great strategy for creating great songs!
Fire and Blood
Viserion
Overall, this was an intense album in many ways. The level of aggression was high, and the band stepped on the gas pedal and hardly let up. Despondent elements provided a hopeless side of life as well.
Rubidium
Visitant
This was an outstanding album, and the band left no stone unturned, even the smaller ones. The aggressive bite of Black Metal was there, just as you would want, but intelligent, technical elements also mixed in, as well as thoughtful, Progressive ones. I would call this “thinking man’s Black Metal.”
Lachrymose Monuments of Obscuration
Hooded Menace
Overall, this was an excellent album, and it blended a few different subgenres of Metal together into a final product that I have to say was uncommon to listen to. That is what made the listen to intriguing for me. Thrashy at times, doomy at others, and even touches of Melodeath, these guys are on their A game on “Lachrymose Monuments of Obscuration.”
Tales Of Tragedy
Call Of Charon
“Tales Of Tragedy” focusses on blood-freezing melodies and atmospheres, all based on punishing guitar riffs, tempo switches, relentless and hammering drumming, and a vocalist who keeps everything well together with his versatility
In This Silence
Meteora
“In This Silence” offers a wide range of symphonic Metal songs, ranging from crushing fast tracks with Death Metal vibes to more easy-to-listen tracks

Major Arcana
Novembers Doom
In every way, this was an good album, and seeing that it is the band’s twelfth release, they did play it a bit safe. I get it…fans get used to a certain sound and that is what they want, what they expect. I’m not asking the band to shed their skin completely, but a taking a few more small chances might help the album to stand out a bit more.
Transitional Objects
Headless
Overall, this was a good listening experience. The band is talented, but they don’t let their technique steal the thunder away from their melodies and harmonies. It was a promising release, and I hope to hear more from the band soon.

Death Kommander
If you are a fan of Bolt Thrower, you're going to love this album. It […]
Doomerism
Aganoor
It's hard to believe this is the first album from AGANOOR—they sound like seasoned veterans of the forever metal psychic wars.
The Silence That Binds Us
Falling Leaves
Overall, this was a good album, but it could have been better with more diversity from song to song. In my opinion, they need to take more chances, which can be done while still retaining their sound.
Menetekel
Gorleben
This was a solid listening experience, and I really enjoyed what keyboards brought to their sound. The album was cloaked in foreboding doom and the promise of a marred future for mankind; two things I am sure of, and they told the tale with a measure of warning and haste.
Embers of Dead Embers
Wrath of Belial
Embers of Dead Empires is furious, philosophical, It blends brutal execution, brilliant song structure, if your a fan of The Black Dahlia Murders this one is for you. Wrath of Belial makes it sound effortless.
