Outbreak
Zombified

This promo CD arrived the perfect time, since I have lately been a lot into brutal Death/Grind music and I have also been watching a lot of B movies filled with maniacal zombies, hehehe! ZOMBIFIED combines these two beloved activities in one with its brutal sound and totally B feel (in a good sense). Right on!
The Northern Ireland based death metallers were formed in 2009 and they debut with this EP, which is released through the also Nothern Ireland based Grindscene Records (which I happened to learn through a licensed release of CEREBRAL BORE's debut album "Maniacal Miscreation", a fine sample of brutal Death/Grind).
Overlooking the fact that the EP's sound could be a bit better, I get straight to the point, which is that ZOMBIFIED kick some serious ass with their totally old school, yet really brutal Death Metal attitude. "Outbreak" is filled with samples from zombie movies, deadly guitars, "rotten" growling vocals and a rhythm section that just doesn't seem to slow down! With influences that range from the US scene (AUTOPSY, REPULSION) to the European Death Metal territory (GRAVE) and the UK sound (NAPALM DEATH, BENEDICTION, CARCASS).
Want something else negative except for the sound? Well, this EP is too short and just when you start getting it on and banging your head it is over. We want a full-length album from ZOMBIFIED! Do you hear me Northern Irish zombies?
